The Cider Pit

I live around the area for many years. But this is the first time I come to this place. I chose the bar counter seat to get closer to action of the staff and that electrifying vibes. It is a Thursday night, right after the Covid restriction on alcohol serving hour is lifted. It’s jam-packed as in all the tables are occupied. The sign that says last orders at 11.30pm brings hope and also mixed feelings at the same time (hope there will not be a need to revert 🤞🏻). The pizza is by far the best I have had. The range of not so common beer and cider brings some elements of surprise. To top it all is the oldies songs. Listening to Air Supply “Even the nights are better since I found you” and Michael Jackson “Beat it” while sipping the beer feels like weekend has just been brought forward. TGIF tomorrow. Update: It’s been two years since the review above in Mar 2022. I have been back on and off as somehow this place just have that draw to bring people back. On the recent few visits, I feel what is lacking is some background music to add to the nostalgic feel of the place. Aug 2024: Great chillout place in the East. The cider and beer is always great! Jan 2026: This is my favourite hangout place. And being a IPA lover, my favourite drink here in the recent visits is unsurprisingly the St Austell Big Job IPA.

Outstanding vibes and atmosphere. Felt like we were back in the middle of Dublin/Ireland in a local pub! The chef here specialises in burgers and they have a whole range of plant based burgers to offer #Vegetarian #Vegan — the chef is super thoughtful and hyper aware of dietary requirements. He even asked if we had religious beliefs / rules wrt food that he could accommodate 😯 The plant based patties are from the Impossible Burger and aren’t deep fried/they’re grilled — plus points for that. The burger variants come from the chef’s whipped up sauces and combination of flavours. The sweet potato fries were an absolute 10/10. The service staff is great too - not sure why so many reviews slam them for it. Probably shown improvements based on the past feedback. They were attentive and kind to us. The beers and non-alcoholic beverage options were fabulous too! Definitely steep pricing, but that’s Joo Chiat for you!

The Cider Pit is a relaxed down to Earth hangout with an excellent selection of beers, including ciders, lagers, stouts, and pilsners. I love coming here to have the Flensburger Pilsner beer. It’s one of my favourite bitter and herb beers with little added sugar in the fermentation process compared to regular beers. In addition to the drinks selection, the pub offers some great bar food that goes very well with the beers. I love their onion rings and fries as well as the breaded chicken breast fillet. Highly recommended if you are looking to have w good chill-out time with friends and a cold one.

Found this place on tiktok and the food lives up to the hype. Great food, the encik burger was very juicy, love it 😋!

Stopped in at the weekend early evening for a few drinks and tried their fantastic burgers too! My wife was loving their extensive list of ciders (great selection of beers too!). Drinks were all great, including the very tasty pirate ginger beer cocktail. The service was fantastic, very friendly. Some friends of ours randomly turned up too, which made it into a full night out! We will definitely be making a return trip.

Not my first visit and I don't usually come at a crowded timing but today I came at 8pm on Saturday. Thank you to the filipino Ate who served us so nicely and was working the floors hard. It was a little hard to get the attention of the other waitstaff/bartenders but she was the only one who was very responsive. We didn't get a name unfortunately. Those who plan to come may want to directly approach waitstaff when ordering as we saw a few (at least 3) tables who left without getting an order in. They were already seated, couldn't get the attention of any waitstaff when they wanted to order and decided to head elsewhere. Drinks were great. Ciders are always an excellent choice of course but today I mixed my own cocktail with Sambuca, Archer's Peach Schnapps and Hartridge's Traditional Lemonade. ;) On a previous visit we tried their sandwich and it was alright. We overheard a few tables trying to order a particular burger but were told that it was best to come earlier for that. Music always wonderful cos i'm old, love green day, no GST places and writing pretentious google reviews like this one.

During my business trip, I always stay at Katong area, and often enjoy cider at here. Looks like so popular, this is because of good drink, foods, and stuff good hospitality !😊

Great vibe with awesome food and a good selection of drafts ciders & beers. The staff - RUBY & NOEL - really knows their stuffs and provides amazing service, very tentative & provides good company !! The signature beef burger was really juicy and the fries are amazing too! 10/10 would recommend!
