Smokey's BBQ Joo Chiat

Visited Smokey’s BBQ at Joo Chiat and ordered the beef brisket platter. The portion looked good and the sides were decent, especially the sweet potato fries and fried items, which were crispy and flavorful. The rice was also nicely seasoned. However, the beef brisket itself was quite dry and lacked the juicy, tender texture you would normally expect from smoked brisket. Because of that, I wouldn’t recommend ordering the brisket. Overall, the place has a nice atmosphere and the other food items were okay, but the brisket was a bit disappointing.

Great service by staff, very attentive and always refilling our water Ordered the platter with baby back ribs, spare ribs, brisket and fish. Also got some Buffalo wings. Wings were good. Brisket was decent, some parts were over cooked. Serving size was good and some variation of cooking is to be expected, so I let this slide. Baby back and spare ribs were quite disappointing despite the good reviews. Alot of the parts were dry and overcooked. Fish was normal.

Oh my ghosh the meat here is so awesome! Good thing I don’t stay near here otherwise I would be eating here almost everyday! 😂 P.S. try their US Prime Beef Brisket, it soooo freaking awesome!

Quiet little spot that I happen to chance upon as it was near my hotel. It was late and I needed a bite. Didn't expect much but I was terribly mistaken. Their ribeye steak was well seasoned and well marbled resulting in a burst of flavor with every bite. My only regret was not pairing it with the good selection of beer they had. The place had a quiet neighbourhood ambience about it. I will definitely come back again.

never been to America before, not too sure if they do smoked brisket and ribs that dry and tough there. I think even cafe cartel (anyone rmb this place) did ribs better. I hope the picture does it justice, if dryness were the desired texture. only saving grace was the selection of beer on tap and being pet friendly. have i mentioned how dry their ribs and brisket were?

We had the baby back ribs and brisket combo and onion rings for lunch. The food served was not hot despite the long wait time for our food. The BBQ sauce was over powering for me, and the meat in the ribs could be more tender. The brisket was dry and plain. The fries were well fried, not soggy. There is no air conditioning, it was warm to be there for lunch

Went here to celebrate American 4th of July. Ordered their platter for 2-3 people for $80 plus a few happy hour beers. The pork ribs, beef brisket and chili were all excellent. Perfect amount of smokiness in the brisket. I was surprised at how good it was. Small play area out front for my toddler. Great find!
