Ice-Cold Beer

I first ate the hotdog at Ice-Cold Beer (ICB) in 2002, I was bartending at No. 5. There was staff discount, I usually ate the hotdog during my supper breaks if I didn't want to eat the staff meal, it also gave me time off from work. The freshly sliced yellow onions, relish, jalapeno peppers, hot mustard, ketchup were a permanent fixture on the hotdogs. Got to standby napkins as the toppings were a confirmed mess when eating. The quality of the hotdogs have been consistent. Unlike the popular hotdogs at a famous furniture company, the ICB hotdogs have meat in their sausages, real meat, not processed fast food sort. Ordered, consumed within 20 minutes. Visit down memory's lane.

This bar is true to their name, a classic old bar but tables and seats appear to be old and worn out. But they have preserved their draught beer well it tastes so good and they are really “ice cold”. This is singapore, the price is what it is as seen in my uploaded receipt. The place is also cold. Menu feels so oily. But will I go back here? Yes. Also to try their food. Service is perfect.

This place is legendary — a perfect blend of rustic shophouse heritage, vintage beer memorabilia and buzzing, unpretentious energy. It’s so cool watching the mechanical dumbwaiter shuttle rounds of drinks and food between the first two floors. Absolutely loved their chicken wings, mini burgers, and ice-cold beer, of course! It’s the perfect spot to chill after a long day at work.

IYKYK. If you don’t mind the price increase for the food. This place is pretty much still the same. I won’t be patronising anytime soon.

Large chicken wings plus one 4 cheese pizza plus smersby cider (1 for1) total with tax $75

We stopped by for a couple of pints and decided to order a pizza as well. The pizza was served on a large plate, so we asked for two small plates to share it. Our request was declined. We were told the restaurant only had baskets and no cutlery for this purpose. When we pointed out that small plates were visible on the counter, we were told those were “not meant for finger food” and could not be given. It was quite strange to be served a pizza but not be allowed separate plates to eat it. The experience felt unnecessarily rigid and unaccommodating. In the end, we simply decided to take our business elsewhere.

We had such a fun night at Ice Cold Beer Bar. The atmosphere was lively, the drinks were great, and the overall vibe made it such an enjoyable place to spend the evening. A special highlight was the magician, Jerryl Tan! He was absolutely incredible. Not only was he extremely skilful and genuinely talented, but he also had such a fun and lovely personality that made the whole experience even more memorable. His performance was truly impressive and added something really unique to the night. Definitely a place worth visiting if you’re looking for a fun, relaxed night out with great entertainment.
