Came on a Saturday evening and the place was packed, but luckily, we didn't have to wait long for a table for 4. Ordering is via QR and payment by PayNow. There's 9% GST charge ontop of whatever price you see on the menu so take note of that. Membership is free so you can sign up for that since the food is slightly cheaper. Do take note of your order number as the place is self-service. We ordered the Fish and Cheaaaap (thought it was a typo) as well as the Hainanese Chicken Chop and Black Pepper Mushroom Chicken Chop. Food was good and the portions were huge for the price you pay (~11 dollars). The fries are not normal shoestring, but cajun fries. 2 pieces of garlic bread, baked beans, coleslaw, a fried egg and your main. Don't overorder the sides if you are not hungry.

The main menu price board does not reflect the same price from the QR code menu. It should clearly show the non-member prices along with the member prices. It only shows, for example, $9.90 for chicken chop with any indication of that it is member prices. The non-member price is $10.90. Order taker could not handle the pricing disparity from a customer before us & from our feedback. Just take the feedback to management & owners of the business. Besides the QR code menu is unable to take our orders. It was faulty when trying to add our orders. So we placed our orders at the counter. Further more there is a GST add-on which is not clearly displayed and only shows up upon bill payment. The Chicken Chop Hainanese Style cost $10.90 (non-member) plus GST works out $11.88. So take note that customers are paying more than the menu bill board. Food was nice however both the Chicken Chop Hainanese Style & Mushroom Pepper Chicken Chop were salty. However the chicken chop is of good portion. Food was tasty just salty towards the end. The Teh O Limanu Peng (iced kalamansi tea) has way too much ice. Saw the order taker fill the 450 ml glass mug full of ice. Perhaps 4/5th of ice will be better. Not buying ice. Buying a drink with ice. Ambience was actually very good: nice cool air-conditioning, cool 80s music however floor was littered with previous customers food like french fries. And some tables were not wiped down clean. Hence 4-star rating for ambience. August 23rd 2026

Had a weekday dinner at STA Western in Joo Chiat and tried the Fish and Cheeeap (yes, that’s really how they spell it 😂), chicken chop, fried chicken and cheese fries. Mains are around $10–$15, so not the most affordable, but portions were quite generous and the food was satisfying enough. Quite liked the quirky retro decor too — casual, fun dining with a nostalgic vibe.

The arcade machines, the old posters screaming that that they are appealing to nostalgia, decor that is loud and overall vibe always made me feel and fear that they were compensating for something - mainly that the food will be a sad plate. I tried this place finally and sometimes I get humbled. The portions are generous. It tastes good. Good crispiness, great fries and lots on the plate which I was quite shocked they were offering at a fairly okay price. Shocking. I'll come back here again

I went there during non peak hour of late afternoon, there's only me plus another customer. So the service was naturally fast, nothing impressive as the restaurant was empty. But the cashier can be more explanatory to offer info proactively instead of having me to ask, like telling me if I want a meal as I wanted a meal I was pointing to the meal but she just assumed I didn't want a meal. No greeting, no "thank you", no "enjoy your food", no smile, just doing the bare minimum service standards. The fried chicken was piping hot but they didn't marinate the meat. The baked potato was cold, totally cold and stale, like they cooked it hours ago during lunchtime and it was unsold and I was served this leftover. I had a stomachache hours after but I also ate another stall's food so I can't pinpoint if it's due to their cold and stale baked potato. Drink and food there was almost double hawker centre's pricing so I expect higher standards. The aircon also feel like they didn't even switch on like that.

Decent western meals at $10-12 per dish. Hot Kopi at $0.90 cents. Air conditioned. Popular in the evenings.

Tried the Classic Chicken Chop and Lamb Chop at STA Western. For the price and portion, really can’t complain, the food is not bad, filling and good value for a casual meal. The staff were friendly and nice too. Nothing overly fancy, just straightforward old-school Western food at reasonable prices. Wouldn’t mind coming back when we’re in the area.

Dropped by on a Saturday around 6pm for dinner, craving some old-school Western food — and it turned out to be a nice choice. We ordered two chicken chops with extra portion of coleslaw, an iced coffee and a teh limau. Total price was $30, after $3 member discount. The portions were very hearty. The chicken chop came with plenty of sides — sausage, baked beans, coleslaw, sunny-side-up egg, and a slice of nicely toasted bread. The drinks were generously sized too, and the iced coffee was especially thick and satisfying. The crowd picked up close to 7pm, and new customers had to queue for seats. Families with teens seemed to enjoy the arcade games after buying tokens — not quite my thing, but it added to the lively atmosphere 😊
