A local heritage coffeehouse concept. The banana pie is unique with minimal pie crust and has added desiccated coconut and crumbs to give the pie more texture. It’s nice. We also tried the coconut tart, banana cake and chicken pie. The coconut tart and chicken pie are decent though the cake tasted a little bland. They do other bakes like scones and apple crumbles.

Someone call the police! Coz their banana pie's the BOMB! Love it! Their banana pie is flavourful, with loads of banana chunks, and yet the crust is crunchy. None of the flavours overpower each other, and it's simply a delight to eat. Highly recommended just for the banana pie alone! I'll definitely come back to try other offerings. There's limited seating area in the back, as well as out front along the road. Oh, their earl grey tea is OK, average but nothing to shout about. It's just that their banana pie is so good that I'm definitely returning in future. Staff are friendly too.

Located at 229 East Coast Road, this "Heritage Bakehouse" concept marks a fresh chapter for the brand, offering a much more comfortable, café-style environment compared to its old-school basement roots. The Visit Timing is everything for popular bakeries. Arriving at 4:20 pm on a Sunday, I was pleasantly surprised to find no queue. It’s the perfect "sweet spot" in the afternoon to avoid the lunch rush and the early evening crowd. The new space is bright and welcoming, making it much easier to browse their expanded menu. The Star of the Show: Banana Cake While everyone knows them for their banana pie, their Banana Cake is a hidden gem that deserves just as much attention. • Freshly Baked: You can tell immediately that it’s freshly baked. The texture is incredibly moist and dense without being oily. • Flavour Profile: It has that deep, natural sweetness that only comes from using properly ripened bananas. It’s not artificially yellow or overly perfumed; it just tastes like home. • Perfect Pairing: Unlike the original basement outlet, this new shop serves coffee (in collaboration with PPP Coffee). A slice of this banana cake paired with a hot latte is arguably the best way to spend a quiet afternoon in Katong. Menu & Experience • Heritage Meets Modern: They still serve the classics—the signature Banana Pie ($4.50/slice) and those iconic Chocolate Tarts—but the new shop also features merchandise like banana chips and specialized spreads. • Vibe: It feels like a "glow-up." You get the same 30-year-old recipe but in a space where you can actually sit down, relax, and enjoy the aroma of baking. Verdict: If you’re a fan of the original, this new spot is a must-visit. The quality remains consistent, and the lack of a queue at 4:20 pm makes it a stress-free experience.

This is a nice bake house with tables and chairs to sit. An upgrade for sure from the previous Dona Manis Banana pie shop. This pie is less sweet which prefer. What is actually really good is actually their chocolate tarts. It is rather expensive though. The banana pudding is ok. Not the best.

Banana pie wasn't as nice as the OG, service extremely bad. Will not buy again. The competitor's pie tastes better in my view.

Was absolutely disappointed by the fluctuation in standard in both the food and service. I came by to buy the banana pudding shio pan collaboration on both friday and sunday. The batch (6 pieces) that I ate on friday was delicious. It was filled with the banana puree and custard. Hence I went back on Sunday to purchase more. I bought 8 more and to my disappointment there is barely any filling in them. Furthermore the staff just gave the shio pans in 4 paper sleeves and expected me to carry them like that. When I asked for a plastic bag because it's so bulky to carry it as is, they were hesitant and a bit upset to go and grab a bag for me. Additionally, not giving a plastic bag clearly isn't an issue as the customer before me was given a plastic bag for their order and when that customer requested for an additional plastic bag, they gave it willingly. Upsetting. In a span of 2 days, the quality of the food can drop so much? Is there no QC? No baseline standard? It was also not crowded so there was ample time to properly fill the shio pan or do the necessary quality checks as well as to pack the items adequately. There was no queue and no rush. Only no sincerity from the staff.

The classic banana pie is a must-try! Even better with vanilla ice. We enjoyed the vibes here a lot, great music choice! Funky!

Nice new concept for Dona Manis bringing the good food to a high traffic location with cafe vibe. Prices are higher than the original at Katong Shopping Centre. Might be due to cost to cover rent. Recommend this location if you want a sit down and paying for the ambiance. For takeaway, if you don't mind walking a bit more go to the original shop.
