DING TE LE Shanghai Panfried Dumpling

Ding Tele Shanghai Panfried is a shockingly good spot for Shanghainese food. The food here really exceeded expectations, especially for something that looks like a casual neighbourhood eatery. The highlight was definitely the vegetable mushroom bao. Once steamed, the filling became incredibly fragrant and flavourful, with a juicy and savoury taste that made it surprisingly memorable. Simple ingredients but done really well. The 生煎包 was excellent too. Ordered the duo version with shrimp and pork, 2 pieces each, and both were satisfying. The skin had a nice slight crisp at the bottom while still staying soft and fluffy on top. The pork filling was juicy, while the shrimp version added a sweeter seafood flavour that paired nicely with the soup inside. The scallion oil noodles were good as well, with a nice texture and comforting taste, though it could use a bit more scallion oil fragrance to make the flavour pop stronger. Still enjoyable overall. The dumplings were solid too, nicely wrapped with juicy fillings and cooked well. Overall, this place serves really impressive Shanghainese food with great flavours across the menu. Definitely worth revisiting if craving baos and pan-fried buns. ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨ 4.5/5 stars.

Some of the best xiao long bao I've ever had, featuring an incredibly flavorful soup and a seriously generous amount of succulent meat. The shengjian bao (生煎包） and the savory dried shrimp, pork, and pickle wonton soup （三鲜大馄饨） were equally amazing and packed with filling. Prices are super reasonable, and the casual indoor seating is pet-friendly too. Definitely a must-visit for comforting, high-quality dumplings.

Baozi here has a terrible taste. It totally destroys my appetite.

Shocked when the fried rice arrived. The portion is completely unjustified for $7.60 before GST. It’s also tasteless. I suggest removing fried rice from the menu. The dumplings aren’t great either.

We loved the pan fried dumplings and the buns so much we got seconds! Juicy, flavourful and crispy- pls come try for yourself. Really enjoyed the sheng jian bao, it's apparently very Shanghainese as the meat was very sweet? Even with my palette which is used to sweet savoury food, this is still pretty sweet. The small wantons were great, really enjoyed the soup. Preferred soup over the vinegar chilli unfortunately, which is usually my favourite. The dumplings (wantons apparently?) are hugeee so be prepared to get quite full. Lunch sets are quite value for money. Would probably try the crab roe next time, my Chinese friend said that it's seasonal and it's just nice the season for it
