Shanghai Tan Pan-Fried Buns

Signature Xiao long bao didn’t disappoint, skin is pretty thin with chewy texture, lots of broth, meat is fresh🥰🥰🥰, their signature pan fried bun is equally good, upper part is soft & chewy, lower part is crispy, contain a lot of broth too, meat is as nice as Xiao long bao meat😍😍😍😍just this two item will make me wanted to go back for more, had tried their pan fried pork dumpling & stir fried pork with green pepper, pretty delicious too, their menu had quite a wide variety of choice to choose 😋😋😋😋👍👍👍👍 I personally think the Xiao Long Bao is very delicious, with thin skin, fresh meat, lots of soup, and delicious. Their pan-fried buns are also delicious; the bottom is crispy but not burnt, perfectly fried 👍👍👍👍, and they even have more soup inside than their xiaolongbao (soup dumplings). Just the xiaolongbao and pan-fried buns alone would make me want to go back. The stir-fried pork with chili peppers I ordered today was also a feast for the eyes and the palate. Their menu is also very diverse 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I'm a repeat customer! The pan-fried buns taste just like the ones I had in Shanghai—crispy skin and fragrant filling. The fried noodles and fried rice are generous portions and great value. You might say they're not amazing, but they're definitely not bad either. Everything is decent and worth trying.

I'm shanghainese. For Singapore standards this is definitely not bad. Technical mistakes: skin not right, crispy part too pastry-like instead of crispy The meat filling texture is correct, soup is good and very very generous The hard torn cabbage is a family friendly version, very far away from the real thing, but it's not a shanghainese dish anyway so shouldn't have high standards for that Free mild green bean soup is a nice touch, hardly sweetened

The absolute star of the show is the Signature Popping Juice Pan Fried Bun (爆汁生煎包). Be warned, the name is literal! The juice explodes the moment you bite in. The staff had to remind us twice to be careful. The contrast between the crispy, golden bottom and the soft, bready skin is perfection. The filling is a wonderful balance of sweet and savoury. ​🍝 Fried Noodle in Shanghai Style (上海肉丝炒面) uses chewy, la mian-style noodles. It’s a carb-heavy dish with a rich black sauce and generous chicken slices, definitely one to share with a friend! ​ Don’t skip the 🥬 Stir-fried Cabbage with Pork and Dried Chilli (砂锅手撕包菜). It has a great wok hei although it’s on the oily/salty side, it’s so flavorful that even vegetable-haters will love it. ​ Other Bites: 🥟 The Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao (上海小笼包) were decent with tender meat, though the skin was a bit thick and I wished for more soup inside. 🥟 The Shrimp Shepherd’s Purse Wonton Soup (虾肉荠菜馄饨) is very substantial, though the filling is quite vegetable-forward and "flaky." ​🐔 Drunken Chicken (上海醉鸡): A best-seller that is served cold. It has a strong rice wine aroma and tender slices, though the sauce was a bit too salty/sour for my personal preference

Love the healthy vegetable bun with shepherd's purse. Everything is made fresh daily, no pre-made stuff here.

The food was amazing, I can’t believe there’s nobody in this shop! The Sheng Jian Pao is something my family would crave for since coming back from Shanghai. The Xiao Long Pao was great too, the soup in the dumplings was really sweet. Fried rice was abit oily, but it was so darn good as well. The pork noodle is perfect, the pork was so tender. The ginger and vinegar that goes with the dumplings were perfect too! I highly recommend if you need some quick fix for dinner, come visit this shop! They have lots of varieties and the prices are reasonable. Staff service are very efficient, the staffs really take care of the shop and maintained the cleanliness of the shop v well, even when there are not a lot of people, they are always cleaning the surfaces of the tables and chairs. I’m so happy dining here 🙇🏻‍♀️😛

Omg the fried rice is so nice! Better than din tai fung! The bursting juice pan fried buns are also very nice! Din realised it has open for 2 years already. The mood is more like hong kong cafe with popular chinese cover songs played in the background. Service very good. Staff adjust the chair to my side to let me put my bag at the side. Maybe the shop can change signboard to more hong kong cafe style instead of mainland china style to make it more attractive for people to step in.
