Din Tai Fung (Waterway Point)

Din Tai Fung at Waterway Point maintains the exceptional consistency and attention to detail that has made this brand famous across the world. Kitty, Aerin and I visited this outlet recently, as we were not very hungry but had a strong craving for their signature xiao long bao. The restaurant occupies a bright, welcoming space on the first floor of the mall, with an open kitchen that allows guests to watch the skilled chefs fold and prepare every dumpling with great care and precision. We were shown to our table quickly, and the staff remained polite and attentive throughout our meal. We ordered six pieces of chicken xiao long bao, ten pieces of classic pork xiao long bao, the chilli crab xiao long bao, and a bowl of braised beef noodle soup to share. What we appreciate most is that the quality of their xiao long bao remains reliably excellent, with every piece perfectly formed. Each dumpling has a thin, delicate skin that holds a generous amount of rich, well balanced broth inside. Among the three varieties we sampled, we all agreed the classic pork xiao long bao was the best, with its familiar comforting flavour and deep savoury broth. The chicken xiao long bao came second, offering a lighter, equally pleasant taste. The chilli crab xiao long bao is an interesting new innovation, yet we felt the crab broth flavour did not blend as naturally with the xiao long bao format as the more traditional fillings. We found that dipping all varieties in ginger and vinegar brought out their flavours best. The braised beef noodle soup also maintained the consistently high standard we have come to expect, with tender beef and a rich, warming broth. Service was efficient, with our food arriving promptly and empty plates cleared away without delay. Prices are fair for the high quality of ingredients and craftsmanship on offer. We would happily return to this outlet whenever we wish to enjoy excellent xiao long bao.

I recently took my daughter there, and we had a lovely experience. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was great. We were seated relatively quickly, with only about 4 groups ahead of us. We ordered the Prawn Pancake ($11.80), Chicken Xiao Long Bao [10pcs] ($13.80), and a Solo Feast ($16.60). The food was delicious, as always. With service charge and GST, the total came to $50.60. Overall, a highly recommended dining experience! I had the shrimp fried rice requested for no msg, less oil and salt, with lots of spring onions, lacking taste yet still a bit oily. I took the 6 pcs steamed pork xiao long bao before the shrimp fried rice. I was very disappointed that this XLB was served in lukewarm instead of piping hot and the skin was thick instead of slim skin, that was really shocking me for their food quality standard being dropped down to the bottom despite engaging so many kitchen crews working in the preparation of their famous signature XLB! ? ? ? ? ? I’ve even asked one of the service crew to check if they’re really in the manner of “make to order”practically then he answered me yes their XLB was served in lukewarm and the thick skin was as usual and they are always make to order practically. This was actually making me feel funny and laughing and non stop thinking what a famous signature item truly was?! sigh, ha! ha! ha! Honestly, i don’t see all the crews are attentive, knowledgeable, service well trained or oriented, except for one or two experienced service crews only. Lastly, why you can’t accept us to make twice shopback pay payment transactions to settle one single bill as long we still settle with a full payment to the same bill right! WHY NOT? Don’t forget that shopback pay is one of your approved payment methods provided for our convenience! In fact, make use of the promo by the shopback pay is the main reason i have been visiting your store once a week recently! Cosy, waiting time for reasonable, nice food and sitting not so noisy

Only several food is good. For example fried rice. Others like xiao long bao, won't say bad but not authentic. The chicken soup is good but small and expensive. Noodles are worse than food court but very expensive. Overall food flavor very normal for this high price. Even plain water needs $1. The only thing good is service. (Not as good as Hai Di Lao but better than many other Singapore restaurants).

I had dinner here with my family. The service was excellent, and the food was fantastic. The xiao long bao (soup dumplings) were the best in Singapore. They were made to order, handcrafted, and filled with delicious broth. The noodles had the perfect texture. I especially loved the spicy dry noodles. Very well done, please keep it up!

Good service w courteous staff. Small portions except fried rice & pricing on high side

A restaurant I'll order takeaway weekly, and visit twice a month. Service always awesome like day 1 they came to Singapore. Unlike Some other restaurants open 1st 2yrs like best service but slowly all gone. Ding Tai Fung always the best, their staff, their service, and the food. The restaurant always very clean and neat too. Standard always there.
