Canton Paradise 樂天小香港 at The Star Vista

Had a delightful dim sum lunch at Canton Paradise at The Star Vista. The restaurant continues to be a reliable choice for quality Cantonese cuisine and a comfortable dining experience. The Steamed Xiao Long Bao was juicy and flavourful, with a good amount of broth packed into each dumpling. The Crystal Har Gow impressed with its plump prawns and delicate translucent skin, while the Crispy Prawn Rice Rolls offered a satisfying contrast between the crispy filling and silky rice rolls. One of the highlights was definitely the adorable Piggy Custard Buns. They were almost too cute to eat, and the smooth, creamy custard filling made them a crowd favourite. The Hong Kong-style Roast Duck was another standout, featuring crispy, glossy skin and tender meat with a rich roasted aroma. We also enjoyed the Poached Chicken, which was tender and moist, as well as the crispy fried prawn rolls that delivered a nice crunch in every bite. To round off the meal, the traditional brown sugar sponge cake was light, fluffy, and not overly sweet. While most dishes were enjoyable and well-executed, a few items felt slightly above average rather than exceptional, and service could have been a little more attentive during the busier periods. Nevertheless, the overall quality, consistency, and variety of dim sum options make this a place worth returning to. A solid choice for family gatherings, weekend brunches, or satisfying a dim sum craving in the west. 👍🥟🦐🦆☕️😋

Canton Paradise, some ATAS fine Chinese dining, somewhere I seldom go to because it says paradise=expensive. Anyway my Queen’s friend have some vouchers so we used it and split the rest, turns out it wasn’t as costly as I thought it would be! Super value for money after all the discounts. The food we had was appetisers mushrooms, some pu er tea, my favourite char siew noodles, roasted duck and roasted pork, salted creamy piggy bun that supposed to send yellow mucus out its nose (they came out from other holes which we were caught off guard), rice rolls char siew, red oil dumplings, pork porridge, shanghai fried rice? And charcoal crispy skin egg tarts!

I’ve been visiting your Star Vista outlet for the past 8 years. This part-time auntie really knows what she’s doing. (Winnie Lee) From showing customers to their tables, recommending menu items, promoting new products, serving food, and clearing tables, she does it all with a genuine smile. I really admire her energy and dedication. Hope I’m not too late to give her a 5-star review!

V disappointed. Milk tea is too sweet! No option to self add, we prefer zero sugar in milk tea. Noodles is over cooked. Green chilis pickle is too sour. Need improvement.

Ordered 3 dishes, two of which are new tasting dishes (steamed kampong chicken with cordyceps flowers in claypot; Stewed Thai style pork rib in claypot) and a 3rd dish is a fish from the menu which I often ordered. The fish dish TODAY are very thin sliced pieces compared to thick pieces I used to get whenever I ordered. The Stewed Thai style pork rib doesn't taste much different from the jing du pai gu in the menu which I also often ordered. The steamed kampong chicken dish is disappointing! 1st, the chicken pieces are all pieces of bones with VERY LITTLE Meat!!! 2nd, the chicken pieces not hardly have meat to bite but the chicken is also hard - - NOT tender like kampong chicken at most restaurants!!! 3rd, the chicken pieces are deep-fried without marinated, then stir-fried with a special gravy. Therefore, the chicken meat has no taste. The taste is only in the outside of the chicken. 4th, don't understand why the name of the dish is steamed chicken when the chicken is actually deep-fried plus stir-fry with the sauce to make the dish appetising. If the dish had been steamed, the meat will NOT be so tough! The first photo is the bone after I tried very hard to bite off a little meat. Can everyone see the SIZE of a piece of chicken before being eaten and the SIZE of the bone left on the plate is almost the same? This shows how little meat goes into my stomach! I believe the restaurant bought frozen drumsticks, chopped into pieces for each claypot, that why every piece is all bone. When I put the pieces together in the claypot, it seems that each claypot has only ONE drumstick chopped into 4 or 5 pieces!!! For that ONE drumstick, the dish is sold for $15.80++.

Never order food from this branch of Canton Paradise. Unreliable and bordering on dishonest. We ordered a few items for family dinner at 4pm, to be delivered at 7pm. Alas when the order arrived (delivered on time by Grab), 2 main items were missing! There was no prior notice, just a “sold out” scribbled on the side of the order chit. That didn’t stop them from charging us for the items though! Tried to contact them several times but no one answered so we ended up ordering from another place. This falls terribly far from the standards they claim to have. It is unacceptable for any business, no matter how big or small, to behave in this manner.

July 2025 We were being usher to a little corner at the end of the far room. Good point is we enjoyed the privacy; bad point is waiters and waitresses were no where to be seen. We need to go out and call them. No bell to press for assistance. We ordered set menu and added on a few other dishes. I didn't take photo of all food served. Taste was average, fat duck is really fat! Very slow in serving the food and interval timing was quite bad that we almost finished our carbs before they served our last 2 dishes. We can't finished them as both dishes were too salty to eat with rice or noodles. This is the 1st time i ate at Canton Paradise and encountered such issue. Usually their services was ok. Maybe we should not take that back-corner table. 😅

Bad experience from the service here. We booked 2pm and she insisted we can only get in at 2pm when we reached at 135pm. We had reduced our number of persons from 9 to 6. We saw available empty tables. First she claimed all the round tables are full. When I walked in to check and saw it, she insist the table is for 5 only can cannot fit us. But the next table has 7 persons sitted. At the end, after asking at least 5x, we were sitted at 2.02pm past the 2pm reservation time. So if you do reserve, I suggest coming exactly at the time you booked. Don’t come earlier.
