Ran some errands around Midview City with the SO and stumbled upon So Good Char Chan Tang while hunting for dinner! 🇭🇰✨ They have a huge selection of food, but we managed to narrow it down and tried: Roasted Duck Mee Pok Dry (The star of the show! The roasted duck was so well-cooked, juicy, and flavorful.) Shrimp Dumpling Soup 🥟 Deep Fried Midwings in Prawn Paste (Har Cheong Gai vibes!) Cold Steam Egg Custard 🍮 Pro-tip: They also have a bakery selling fresh breads and buns right next door, so you can grab some breakfast for the next day. Definitely give them a try the next time you're in the Sin Ming/Midview area! 👇 #MidviewCity #SoGoodCharChanTang #SinMingFood #HongKongCafe #CharChanTang #RoastedDuck #MeePok #HarCheongGai #SgFoodie #SgEats #SingaporeFoodie #SgFoodPorn #BakingNextDoor #ComfortFood #SupportLocalSG #mealsphotos @sogoodcctsg @sogoodbakerysg

I had a disappointing experience overall at this restaurant. While the cashier was friendly and pleasant, the service at the self-collection area was the opposite the kitchen staff there came across as quite rude, which affected the dining experience. The food itself was below expectations. The rice was heavily coated in a tomato-based sauce that was overly sweet, making it hard to tell what I was eating. The meat had an unpleasant, rubbery texture. The egg tart lacked flavour and fragrance, and the char siew pastry was also quite bland, with no noticeable aroma or depth of taste. Considering the quality of the food and overall experience, the pricing does not feel justified.

Went last week specially for the "Pork Chop Tomato Baked Rice" but only available from Lunch Time Went again today, finally had "Pork Chop Tomato Baked Rice" but the Tomato Sauce tasted different from my memory (Change of Chef? Ingredient?) Meatball Porridge is so disappointing (4 small miserable meatballs, doesn't taste like handmade) , youtiao tastes like bread dough Bought some bakes as usual , cheap & not bad : CharSiewPuff 👎 Egg Tarts 👎 Danish 👍 Polo Bun 👍 (my All-Time Fav) Spacious seating area

What a lucky find! This CCT serves yummy food that reminds me of Hong Kong as well as the defunct basement eatery in Centre Point back in the 80s! The Zhar Jiang Mian brought me down memory lane, so so happy I finally found a version that tastes 99% like when I first had this noodle dish. The only complaint? It’s such a small portion! The small bowl of soup is less salty and has stronger taste of dried scallop base than how it’s commonly served in HK. Before you place your order from a kiosk (there are 4), pick up a buzzer from top right corner and enter the number on the buzzer right at the start, before you begin to choose your food. Payment by card. Take your buzzer and wait. If you eat in, goto Food Collection Counter when buzzer goes. your food are placed on trays. If you takeaway, the food is placed in bags on a table or along the counter near the Collection Counter. Lots of tables here, and it’s bright and spacious. Because the interior is joined to the bakery next door, you can hop across to browse what’s on offer whilst you wait for your takeaway. And it’s discounted after 6pm every day! No wonder the sudden surge of customers with young children about 5.50pm to pick out what they want and hovering in a neat line near the cashier ready to pay come 6pm. By the way, the pastries are delicious without that margarine taste. Buttery! Get here by car or nearest MRT is about 10min walk (Bright Hill on TEL brown line). I saw a poster indicating there are several CCT outlets in eastern and southern SG. Will come back to try other favourites like lava bun and their shrimp wanton mee.

First time checking this place out. Located in a light industrial area- mid view city. Plenty of parking space. Was abit overwhelmed when we first stepped in as there wasn’t any proper queuing system. U need to find your own table bf ordering. Don’t expect any service as everything here is self-service. From placing your order at the kiosk (only 2 available and a counter which I guessing u can place order with the lady if one needs help) Getting your own cutlery, plates, bowls and return your tray after eating. Collecting yr food. Food is good but portion is abit small for some dishes. Pricing is abit of a hit and miss, depending on the dish. But definitely overpriced for black coffee. Paid $2.80 for a small cup of black coffee which wasn’t the best. Soya milk and barley was not too bad. Their bakery side looks good but didn’t get a chance to try it.

The air conditioning has improved … used to be one of my favorite places for tea n quick bites … Sadly the quality is deteriorating … management needs to re-look into the quality of food … had a simple Cheong Fun n French Toast … The CF wasn’t silky like before , it was tough … the prawns were fresh enough … The French Toast was drenched with oil … looks ok fr teh outside but one bite , it’s full of oil … the oil also looked “colored” meaning it could be “used” or the pan wasn’t cleaned enough before the toast was placed to on the pan … Drinks were ok 👍 Service is ok , friendly staff … comfortable settings …

The place is perpetually crowded every mealtime and not because of fantastic food, but simply because all parents are waiting for their kids to finish their class nearby. You have to wait for seats and queue up to order your food through a machine. So it is frustration even before you order your food. Food quality is ok; not bad but not fantastic, it is just a hong kong themed restaurant with a connecting bakery. Service staff are there mainly to try split seats for u if you are occupying more seats than you should. For the aircon comfort and reasonable price, I think nothing to complain.
