Really comforting dishes and all the dishes are really done well! My favourites for tonight were their Tauhu telor, fried meesua, soft shell crab.. Will definitely come back to try more! Restaurant atmosphere was really nice too and staff were efficient and friendly. Definitely somewhere great to bring friends, families and colleagues :)

Personable and dedicated service staff who made the entire dining experience very comfortable and homely. Overall, the dishes in terms of quality, portion, and price point are pretty good, I enjoy their chicken dish the most. Beef rendang and Nonya Chap chye are not bad, steamed seabass is average (and quite highly priced for the portion size). Desserts are not great, wish the menu is more extensive too.

Loved the interiors ambience of this place, feels like stepping back into time. Cosy and familiar, like you took a trip to your grandparents' home. The food was great too ofc - especially loved the crispy kangkong salad, beef rendang, and the tahu telur!

Thank you to the Bumbu team and Ms Cheng for allowing my friend and I to order a variety of dishes but in half portions. My friend was visiting Singapore for the first time and I wanted her to be able to try a variety, but knew we would not be able to finish the full portions. Bumbu kindly accommodated our request and we had a great experience. My friend loved the coffee chicken in particular.

Bumbu has always been our go-to place for meetups because it’s halal, the food is decent, and the ambience is charming. I’ve always liked their tahu telor and beef rendang — both were usually rich and flavourful. However, when I visited recently, I noticed that the flavours weren’t as strong as before. It’s a little disappointing since this place used to be consistently good. That said, because of its nice atmosphere and good track record, my friends and I will probably give it another try the next time we meet.

Came for lunch without booking on a weekend, managed to snag the last available table! Please do make booking if you plan to come on weekends! The place is so quaint! A lot of Peranakan inspired interior decor. Two of us had the beef rendand, chap chye and ayam buah keluak. White rice is free flow! The beef rendang was tender and spot on for flavour. The chap chye was ok. The ayam buah keluak is lighter in taste compared to other buah keluaks I had. No pork peranakan dishes as this place is Halal. The decor is really nice!

New Year’s Eve dinner: not too crowded, had a pleasant dining experience with friends and homely Peranakan dishes. Love that there was free flow rice option. Great service too. What we ordered: • Fish maw soup-so flavourful • Ayam buah keluak-the buah keluak nuts were the star of the dish, chicken and gravy (too liquidy) could be better • Nonya chapchye-can’t go wrong with this • Butter oat soft shell crab-very moreish
