It’s a combination of zhicha (local stir fry dishes) and bak kut teh and some other local food. Bak kut teh is the peppery sort, just nice and not too sweet and savory. Flavour profile average. Meat quality is good, but with a bit of fat that is subjective and can be removed with ease. Special mention to their rice wine chicken which is harder to find in Singapore and piping hot when served on a little black claypot, glad they are still doing this dish here. Pork-rib were pretty good, soup would have been better if it’s very hot and not just warm. I have not tried the other dishes but they have a great variety of dishes if you’re not here for bak kut teh. Seriously it’s a one shop sell all type of concept. Don’t believe the homemade soya bean milk cause it’s obviously done from a can / packet.

The meat in the bak kut teh was tender and delicious! I also ordered the mushroom soup and rice, and it really filled me up! The man at the restaurant was friendly and smiling—he was brilliant! ^ ^ The meat in the bak kut teh was tender and delicious! Although I also ordered the mushroom soup and rice, I was already very full! The man at the restaurant was smiling and friendly, he was great! ^ ^ The stewed meat was tender and delicious! Major hygiene and laziness issue. Service is down right nonsense…serve chipped plate, bowls and utensils are downright dirty, never give tissue or anything, only probide when we highlight that their bowls and utensils are soooo dirty

Rainy days are perfect for ordering takeout! It was so pleasant for the family to chat and enjoy crab together. We often eat at this restaurant, and for me and my family, Balestier Bak Kut Teh is always number one, whether it's bak kut teh or stir-fried dishes—it's our top choice for family gatherings! The crab rice noodles are a favorite with both the elderly and children! The black pepper crab is so delicious you'll lick your fingers! Most importantly, the crab is incredibly fresh! We've tried almost everything on the menu, and they're all fantastic! A wonderful weekend, sharing with you all!

It's delicious! I've eaten here twice already. A plus is that the restaurant stays open quite late. The service is very quick.

If you are looking for the best peppery BKT late night to satisfy your cravings, this is the place for you. I like that they can mix the ribs with other choices of organs so that you don’t have to order an extra bowl which is probably too much to finish.

1 STAR based on system and attitude, not food. I'm a delivery rider. Came in to see if my order was ready. Food wasn't ready so I write down the details of the order and come back later. When order was ready, it prompt on the app so I went back to collect. When I arrived, I assumed my order was in the box so I took. Taking 3 to 5 steps away, I realised the order was wrong so I returned it. I asked the staff present but she knows only little bit of English. When I ask for my order, she ignored and told me to go to the kitchen and ask. Kitchen staff told me it's done and sent to the collecting area. I went back and forth for my order which was clearly stated "ready" on the app. When the kitchen staff met with the staff handling collection, the collection staff blamed me for taking somebody else's order and trying to accuse I was stealing. They had a CCTV at that area and can surely see me doing such offenses. Even the kitchen staff agreed with me to check the CCTV since somebody took my order. I don't understand the purpose of the CCTV if they can't check it. Still on "me stealing", the kitchen staff took another receipt and went to redo the order. The collection staff was at fault not checking who took the order and clearly doesn't want to admit it. Total 50mins wait, luckily I'm not rushing. Try to call the restaurant to explain to the staff since we don't understand each other but it was an invalid number

I went there on Sunday in the beginning of July. There is no crowd. They have QR scan for ordering and payment via a lots of method. But if you will pay by cash, need to go to cashier. The food very delicious. Refilled Hot pepper soup is the signature for Singaporean Bak Kut Teh for my opinion. Even vegetable dish is very good. Highly recommend if you would like to try local but nice Bak Kut Teh.
