I discovered this cafe 2 years ago when my husband and I finally could go on a quick dinner date post-partum. They have a very worthwhile dinner promotion - mains+starters+sides+desert for the price of the mains. I ordered the iberico pork stew with garlic butter rice, wakame salad, potato gratin and brownie with ice cream. And I've never looked back since. The pork stew was tender and delicious, the garlic butter rice and potato gratin were so fragrant, the wakame salad was fresh and tangy, the brownie and icecream not too sweet. I literally craved for this combination of food and will bring my toddler and husband back just for me to have it again. I've brought my good friends and my parents too (they ordered other food on the menu). As always, I was looking forward for dinner again tonight, especially it's been 2 months since we last visited. However, to my horror, they revamp the menu and took away the iberico pork stew ): I'm not sure how to explain how heartbroken I was. It has became a source of comfort food for me the past 2 years. Even one of the main waiter recognised my little family and remembers that Ive always ordered the pork stew. I literally went back to my seat and cried. T.T Honestly, I'm not sure if I will be back. But I am still highly recommending this cafe as their food quality is really supeb (as agreed with all the other people that ive brought along the past 2 years - they all ordered a variety of food unlike me haha), the environment is cosy and comfortable, and the service has always been top notch (': (I don't take photos of food and I'm not good at taking them but I'm glad I did take one for the set I've always ordered last year) Thank you Alkove Bistro and staff for all the lovely dinner memories (': (Just an additional note for those who are driving, there's only parallel roadside parking on the opposite side/ down the road and it's very limited, do go down earlier before 7pm to have a higher chance of finding a lot!)

Tom yum pasta & salmon dishes nice, pizza ok... Truffle fries comes covered with a cream sauce which some of us didn't like, would be better if it comes separately as a side dip. Kids loved the ceme brulee dessert. Coffee is so awful!! Bland milky brown liquid, is there even any coffee?! Place is spacious but gets rather noisy

food here are too good and the staff especially the uncle really very friendly and sweet and kind and nice! big recommend

Ordered Smoke sausage & scramble eggs. Eggs placed on top of the sourdough bread that makes the bread soggy. Informed staffs about this and what i got is, Egg is freshly made. hence its will be wet. Please inform kitchen to separate the egg. I have never know that Sourdough is to be eaten soggy! Really disappointed. Zoom in to look at the picture bread and you will understand. Never ever going back!

Had a pretty good time at alkove! Ordered the tiger prawn aglio olio and the pan-seared barramundi with clam broth (+ rice), everything was yummy! The strawberry matcha was also good. Would recommend a try! 😇🥰 Damage was around $32-$36/pax total.

Heard all about the rave and finally came to try. Walkable distance from kovan mrt but very limited parking on site. Menu boost pizza, pasta and mains. There was only 2 of us hence we didnt manage to try a lot of dishes. My barramundi with clam broth tasted great. The barramundi was grilled before putting into the delicious and flavourful clay broth. A suggestion that they should give me a empty plate or bucket to put clay shell. They have set dinner which is worthy. With selected mains and top up, you can get a starter and appetiser. The fried chicken wings were well marinated, flavourful down to the meat. The truffle fries was nice. Price reasonable. I need to come back again to try more dishes. Reservation recommended. Quite packed on a friday.

Exceptional find! Warm ambience and lovely atmosphere. Getting isn't difficult, a short walk from Kovan MRT Station. For a Saturday Afternoon, it was rather quiet which makes it perfect for catch-ups with friends and families. Ordered the Wild Mushroom Pasta and the Alkove Big Breakfast, both packed with wonderful flavours! Must try! Will definitely come here again!
