It's my third time ordering from JiakWesternLah (a catering by Buttercake N Cream). I've had their food twice for the past 2 years' Christmas parties, and most recently for CNY 2026 :) Overall, the food has been consistently tasty and generous in portion, which is why I keep going back! Their spread always looks impressive on the table (presentation A+++) and works really well for festive home gatherings ❤️ For CNY 2026, we ordered the Bacon Aglio Olio, “Hokkien” Prawn Mee, Baked Norwegian King Salmon, Baked Chicken, and the Creamy Seafood Bisque. The salmon has always been my personal favourite - this was my third time ordering it! It was perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and complemented beautifully by the tangy mango dressing 🤤 The Bacon Aglio Olio was a clear crowd favourite and one of the first trays to be cleared. The baked chicken was tender and chunky, while the Hokkien Prawn Mee was flavourful and comforting. The only letdown was the prawns in the creamy seafood bisque which weren’t as fresh, leaving the flesh all flakey and crumbly. That said, the scallops were really juicy and I guess the overall richness + flavour of the bisque kinda made up for it :) One area that could be improved is punctuality. The stated delivery window was 5.30 to 6.15pm, but our food only arrived at 6.30pm. It wasn’t a major delay, but my guests were anticipating the food around 6pm, so closer adherence to the delivery window would have been appreciated. All in all, the food quality has been consistently good across my 3 catering experiences. My guests sang praises of the dishes, and at $627 for a 20 pax spread (inclusive of the $19 delivery charge, hence it's about $31 per pax), I found it to be of pretty decent value. Definitely a caterer I’d recommend and consider ordering from again for future gatherings! 😊

Lunch with family of 5. Unanimously voted our top two dishes - “Two Way Chicken” and “K-bonara Pasta”. They are very creative with the names! The chicken was flavourful and tender. The K-bonara Pasta was a success fusing al dente spaghetti, kimchi, bacon and sauce. The “cold summer brew” was refreshing with a hint of honey. Prices for set lunch were very reasonable. Quality and presentation of food were done very well in my opinion. Congratulations to the Filipino head chef and Indian chef. Cosy atmosphere. If you choose to sit in the non-aircon dinning area, be aware of mosquitoes if you are prone to be bitten. Quite a few fans were switched on to keep the area cool.

Popped in for the weekday lunch special and wow—it’s seriously worth every cent. For just $13.90+, we tried the Braised Beef Stew (Sichuan Mala Flavour), and it did not disappoint. The sauce had a gentle sweetness from the vegetables, was deeply flavourful, and delivered a satisfying mala kick at the end. Best of all, the beef was firm but tender. We also ordered the Two Way Chicken, which was an absolute delight—juicy and succulent on the inside with a light, thin crispy crust on the outside. Truly cooked to perfection. A pleasant surprise was the garlic butter mentaiko bun that came alongside the meal: soft, fragrant, garlicky, with just a subtle hint of mentaiko that wasn’t overwhelming at all. All in all, an excellent lunch deal and definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area!

I went with a friend for lunch. Everything was fresh and homemade tasting, which was great. My friend had pasta with seafood and thought it was excellent. I had the pasta Bolognese and thought it was ok (not in any way bad, but not special and a little greasy because the fat hadn't been drained off the mince.) I forgot to take pictures of the food. We shared the Biscoff cheesecake for dessert and that was excellent. Not overly sweet, it was creamy, and very flavorful. The restaurant was a tiny bit hard to find, but don't give up, it's worth going to. You will like the atmosphere and the very nice server.

The aglio olio with seafood was absolute standout—hands down one of the best I've had! It's not easy to get this dish right, but they did: perfectly al dente spaghetti tossed in a light, garlicky olive oil sauce that's fragrant without being oily. Loaded with fresh prawns, squid, and mussels that were plump, juicy, and cooked spot-on—not overdone or chewy. A generous chili kick for that authentic heat, and it all came together in a simple yet insanely flavorful bowl. Pork chop was solid and acceptable—juicy inside with a nice sear, good seasoning, though nothing revolutionary. Paired well with the sides. The mushroom soup? Total winner with creamy, rich, and packed with earthy mushroom flavor, not watered down at all. Warm, comforting, and the perfect starter to kick off the meal. Cozy vibe, super friendly service, and prices that won't break the bank. If you're after great aglio olio done right, this cafe is a gem

A pleasant surprise to find this gem in the hdb vicinity! We were a party of four on a double date. I forgot to reserve so we sat outdoors. The indoor seats were limited n full when we got there at 7pm on a Thursday night. I had the aglio olio n the pasta was al dente! Tried the roasted potatoes (sides for the grilled meat that my husband had) and oh my they were very flavorful! I would order it as an appetiser! Well, we had fries and Cesar salad to share and they were pretty “ordinary” and predictable. The iced latte I had was good! Generous portion too. Would love to visit again. Oh yes the service was great with one waiter taking care of ALL tables (90-100% full!)

Visited Buttercake n Cream for lunch on a weekend and found it to be quite value for money considering the portion sizes and variety. The mushroom soup was alright — slightly on the tastier side but not overly salty, and I liked that the consistency wasn’t too thick, making it easier to enjoy as a starter. My favourite dish was the seafood aglio olio — decently seasoned with a nice balance of flavours, and it came with a generous amount of seafood, which was a pleasant surprise. The burger was decent, though I personally didn’t enjoy the slight gamy taste in the meat. Similarly, the pork collar wasn’t too bad in terms of flavour, but it had a slightly gamy taste as well and was quite fatty. Overall, a nice spot for a casual weekend lunch, especially if you enjoy hearty portions at reasonable prices.
