It’s getting rowdy with this tucked away place getting popular. Service staff needs to be trained because they can’t recognize the chicken for pork and sent a wrong dish but assured is the order we placed. Subsequently came the actual dish and surprised that we ordered two Pad Krapow and she serving the third. Ordered only a few dishes for 3pax placed at 1846hrs (restaurant is half filled maybe 3/4 full) with the first dish served at 1950hrs. When the Green Curry is served atlas, we are already done with the Krapow, and have to cancel the half dozen oysters at 2030hrs because they are not sure if oysters have been shucked (appetizers but to be served as desserts?). Shrimp omelette has very little prawn and super oily. Deep fried chicken wings was the most astounding dish where each wing was split so you are liken to eating leftovers put into a plate. Presentation is lacking (see pics). A very disappointing dinner though the service staff apologised profusely.

The food was quite mediocre, but the service was attentive, warm, and welcoming. The fried kangkong was good and loved by my children, resembling fries. The fish was okay but required waiting for the fire to heat up properly. I felt that the Tom Yum lacked flavor, being too watery, and I didn’t enjoy the jowl, as it wasn’t to my taste.

I didn’t expect to find a Thai bistro hidden along the northern coast! Kin Kao Mai is right by the sea, and dining with the ocean breeze, a sea view, and good food instantly puts you in a relaxed mood. The atmosphere is absolutely on point. They specialize in Thai cuisine, with classics like pineapple fried rice and tom yum soup. The flavors are perfectly balanced—sour and spicy in a very appetizing way, with rich layers of spices. The tom yum soup, served hot, was especially comforting to enjoy by the seaside. A really pleasant and memorable dining experience.

The food overall was pretty good. But the standout dish was definitely the pork jowl. It was a great cut and it was sliced thinly and cooked perfectly. I dare say it’s one of the best meat dishes I have had anywhere and I don’t think it’s given the recognition it deserves.

We had a nice dining experience at Kin Kao Mai. The highlight for us was definitely the steamed sea bass with lime and garlic – fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The seafood salad and Thai-style grilled beef were also good, though the fish stood out as the star dish. We paired our meal with gin & tonic, but do note that happy hour ends at 8:00 pm, so it’s best to come earlier if you want to enjoy the drinks at promo price. Our total came to about $125.90 for food and drinks, including service charge and GST. Overall, a pleasant experience with good Thai flavors in a relaxing yacht club setting.

Great Thai food with a nice view of the Yacht Club! The serving of the food was fast, and the dishes were delicious. We had the grilled squid with dipping sauce and Crackling Pork Knuckle – the skin was crispy and juicy. For our main course, we had the deep-fried sea bass with sweet and sour sauce and fried glass noodles with seafood. For soup, we had the minced pork tofu soup, which was full of ingredients and tasty. Loved the chill vibes here, and it was a satisfying dinner! Recommended to reserve in advance, as it was fully booked when we came on Sunday evening .

This is probably the 10th time I have been here . prices of food has gone up by 50 % for some of the item . Very obvious the business is much better now as compared to two years ago, but sad to report that the food quantity n quality has deteriorated… so sad… ordered the river prawn. Serving was so small and was not fresh.dishonest. Since it cost us $30 , we complained to the service crew. They agreed to replaced but we waited more than 20 mins for it and totally killed our appetite. will think twice before coming here again.
