Bep Hen is a Michelin recognized restaurant. While on vacation in Da Nang Vietnam, I stayed at the Fivitel Boutique in Hai Chau. I was happy to see a top rated restaurant so close to my hotel. But for a seven day vacation Bep Hen had the worst food. My wife and I were amazed at the vintage style decor. The walls and cabinets are adorned with antiques. We sat upstairs which is also loaded with things from years gone by. We ordered first the garlic fried shrimp. This was the only dish we liked and honestly there was nothing special about it. Second order was the Chicken lemongrass. This fell flat, subtle flavor lacking quality chicken pieces. Third order was the fried pork belly. Couldn't get past the first few bites. The last order was the steamed bass, this was also below average in preparation and flavor We both and the tables next to us all got the feeling the kitchen is just rushing out the orders quickly with no attention to the flavor. We left behind uneaten more than half of what we ordered. And we didn't want to take the leftovers with us. Being a recognized restaurant I was very disappointed in our dining experience at Bep Hen.
