Thìa Gỗ Restaurant Da Nang

During our time in Da Nang and Hội An, this became one of our favorite spots for Vietnamese food. We visited both locations and really enjoyed the food at both of them. Everything we ordered was incredibly delicious, and the quality was consistently excellent. The Da Nang location was already fantastic, but the Hội An restaurant is especially worth visiting for the Cao Lầu. It was our absolute favorite dish, incredibly delicious, a little spicy, and the thick noodles made it really special. The only downside is that I’ll probably be craving it for a long time. The local prices and authentic atmosphere make the experience even better, while the culinary level truly speaks for itself. With food this excellent, it is no surprise that they have been recognized by Michelin. Simply perfect. Overall, we highly recommend this place if you’re looking for authentic Vietnamese food and a fantastic dining experience. 🇻🇳✨🍜

Food here has been the best I have had so far in Danang. I had spring roll with noodles - the spring rolls were incredible. It was just right crispy and tasty. Really loved the Bahn Xeo which was not overly oily and the blend of that in the lettuce and the rice paper was one of my favourite. You can’t book so need to wait to get seated. Service is really fast and food portions are quite large. It’s got quite a vibe going and feels very warm and cosy. Bahn xeo mushroom is my favourite. Have had it twice now.

Had the Pho Nam Thap Cam (Mixed beef pho), and the seafood spring rolls. Pho tasted similar to a lot of the pho restaurants we have in Canada. Bit more of a beefy/salty flavour than the clear herby Hanoi style. Brisket pieces were tender. Seafood spring rolls were okay. Crispy texture, served with lettuce and fish sauce. Although I didn't feel like the spring rolls had much seafood flavour. Mostly just tasted wood ear mushrooms and vermicelli. Overall a fair experience. Prepare to pay higher prices than street food of similar taste.

Maybe we ordered wrong but this was quite disappointing. We saw the reviews so arrived at 6pm on a Saturday but there wasn’t a queue and infact no one queued the entire time we were there. Sat outside which was nice, had fairy lights and fans. The food was just so disappointing. It came quickly but not very flavoursome. The spring rolls (both fried and fresh) were quite good but otherwise didn’t really feel like finishing.

To be exact, it’s not a Michelin star but a Michelin Bib. However if I could give it 6 stars I would. Service was exceptionally good. They even spontaneously offered to move us to an indoor table when one freed up as the construction across the street got noisy. Food was absolutely perfect. Super quick service. Decent selection of microbrewery beers as well. Decor was impeccable. Even the toilet was spotless and stylishly decorated.

DO NOT EAT HERE! TOURIST TRAP! I have to first state that I’m Vietnamese who lives abroad for a long time as well so I can understand different taste profiles and be more tolerant if touristy place like this restaurant has sub par quality. But Thia Go is a shock to me on all fronts: bad food, bad service, limited menu. It’s more shocking that this place gets more than 4 star review and because of that we all fall into this trap. What happened? We ordered 4 different dishes, 2 drinks. The tamarind drink was as expected but all 4 dishes failed, especially for my Bun Bo hue. The soup is tasteless and the meat (beef) is hard like it goes straight from a freezer without proper cooking time. The soup has a lot of cheap noodle but only 2-4 pieces of cardboard like meat slices. Its so bad I couldn’t eat it…The spring rolls are mushy and soaked in oil, I had to stop after one bite. But to make it worse, when I let the manager know she said : sorry the foods is not tasty because they cook for “foreigners” implying it can be bad like that and foreigners wouldn’t know or complain. She refused to exchange it or take it off the menu knowing I can’t even eat my foods…. I told her it’s ok I am willing to pay the full price because 78k is nothing I just want them to respect tourists to prepare better foods, …but the message doesn’t get through. My friend’s pho is horrible as well, he mentioned it’s so bland and offered me to taste it to verify. I thought the pho looked great but when I tasted the soup it’s super bland and tasteless… what a disgrace! Plus you get charged 20% on top on certain days and 2.5% for credit card payment. So guys! DO NOT EAT HERE!!! Go to BEP CUON instead. Bep Cuon is also touristy but at least the foods is good. Also, do others a favor, stop giving 5 stars when you don’t really know the foods scene, it’s misleading for other fellows. Talking as a local here… eat elsewhere. We have tons of great foods!

Let me say this I got into the restaurant at 9:10pm I ordered spring rolls, some other food and was extremely disappointed. I told my girlfriend I cook food, I know when food has just been made my food was cold and the spring rolls I bought where burned this probably was my worst experience eating food in Vietnam. If you look at how I give reviews I rarely ever give 1 stars. Please do better, lastly when I told the manager about the situation they gave pushback but it says on the wall (policy) that if you don’t like the food you can return it. I was extremely disappointed and didn’t finish none of my food. I hate to give this restaurant a 1 stars hopefully they issue an apology.

Overrated "Influencer" Spot – Not for Authentic Food Lovers We visited Thia Go on our first night in Da Nang because it was highly recommended, but unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. The Vibe: This is a classic "Influencer" restaurant. It is heavily oriented towards Western tourists—we didn't see a single local eating here. The atmosphere felt artificial and lacked any authentic charm. The Food: The Pho did not taste authentic at all; the broth lacked the depth you find at real local spots. The Banh Xeo (pancakes) were way too oily, making them very heavy and unpleasant to eat. The Coconut Coffee was also a letdown compared to others we’ve tried in Vietnam. The only highlight were the fresh spring rolls, which were actually good. Pricing: We paid 328,000 VND for two drinks, summer rolls, Banh Xeo, and a Pho. While the price is okay, the quality of the food simply doesn't match the hype. Verdict: If you are looking for real Vietnamese flavors, skip this place. The signature dishes are tailored to Western palates and the whole experience is designed for social media photos, not for the food itself.
