New World Congee

New World Congee served a surprisingly satisfying bowl of pork congee for just $3.50, with smooth, creamy porridge and generous slices of tender pork that tasted fresh and well-marinated. The congee was comforting without being overly salty, and the crispy shallots and spring onions added extra flavour and texture to every spoonful. For the price, it felt like excellent value and a comforting old-school meal that’s hard to find nowadays.

It would be a crime to rate anything more than a 3 star for atmosphere since it's in a hawker setting. The porridge is value for money. Cheapest option is $3.50 for the pork as well as the shredded chicken version. I've tried both and they are comforting to the tummy. Hot, generous portions for the price and satisfying. And they accept CDC vouchers too. It's an one man operator so don't mind the Boss if he doesn't provide hotel service standards. He's polite and patient.

Prefer congee hawkers like botak porridge and sin heng kee, richness of stock, fresh ingredients their with a warm savoury base. Nothing to set it apart from them, except charging 10 cents for an extra bowl. Welcome to the New World.

Love the food here. Regular patron for years here. Porridge is good. Very clean stall and organized. His ingredients are fresh It’s one man show so might wait but it’s not unreasonable. One review said he is grumpy - not true. He does his job very well. Please don’t write ridiculous reviews since hawkers business are dependent on it. Be truthful about the food. He is not rude and if you want super good service and smiling faces then you need to be realistic. But don’t say untruths that harms the stall reputation.

This place is closed since a week I’ve been coming at different times to check. No notice outside either. .

Today i enjoyed Peanut Minced Meat Congee, really delicious authentic traditional flavours tasty 😋 yummy ☘️👍👍👍👍👍 Friendly helpful & attentive, i will be back to have others choice of selection 🤗🍀

One of the best local porridge I have tried. Porridge is creamy and full of flavour, but without the MSG you get in many other places. They are really good with their liver. Soft and not overdone, with a slightly sweet taste. Pork congee, Fish congee Definitely a place to get your porridge fix.
