Kovan 209 Market & Food Centre is one of the best neighbourhood hawker centres in the Hougang–Kovan area. Just a short walk from Kovan MRT, it's a favourite among residents for its wide variety of affordable local food and traditional market atmosphere. 🍜 Excellent mix of long-established hawker stalls serving noodles, duck rice, porridge, Teochew kueh, desserts and zi char. 💰 Very affordable, with most meals costing S$4–8. 🥤 Plenty of drink and dessert options. 🥬 Wet market on the upper level for fresh produce and groceries. 🚶 Easy to reach from Kovan MRT and Heartland Mall.

This is for particular mixed veg rice stall in the photo. Pure rudeness from both the male and female. It’s like we are owing them a living. Go experience it yourself 😅 Also they kind of overcharging and you will not want to confront the guy about it. Trust me. People need to learn some manners especially we are your customers.

We love this place for good food and good selections. Lots to choose from and great value. Worth the trip up here. Also for evening dinning most are open.

Looks like old timer of Singapore. Very nostalgic and evergreen location. The food stall has many food variety. Hainaese curry rice, indon cuisine, western food.

3.5/5 A stuffy and poorly ventilated food centre with appalling hygiene standards and an unpleasant smell throughout the premises. The tables are often left dirty, which further affects the overall dining experience. Its only saving grace is the quality of the food, as it has better hawker options than many food centres in the Serangoon, Punggol, Sengkang, and Hougang areas. Popular stalls include Simon Road Fried Hokkien Prawn Noodles, the two bak chor mee and fishball noodle stalls located side by side, Kovan Rojak, and Fatt Soon Kueh.

A quintessential Singapore wet and dry market well loved and well utilised by locals. Lotsa good food, affordable prices, pulsating with heartland vibes. Located next to the airconditioned Heartland Mall which provides all sorts of services and a plethora of F&B outlets, it is a strone's throw away from Kovan MRT Station. I would recommend it as a must-visit for tourists wishing to see the true fabric of Singapore!

Seafood congee is delicious, and you can even add shredded egg! Thumbs up!
