Chickpea Eatery - Vegan Restaurant & Cooking Class Da Nang

I’m not vegan, but this place genuinely surprised me in a very positive way. 🌱 The food was flavorful, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. The vegan skewers had a rich, savory taste, while the rice-paper rolls were light, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the sauce. The crispy vegan pancake was also enjoyable, especially with all the fresh herbs and vegetables provided. The atmosphere is relaxed and charming, with colorful lanterns and plenty of natural light, making it a pleasant spot for a casual lunch. Service was friendly, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. To be honest, I was leaning toward a 4-star experience, but considering the affordable pricing and the care put into both the food and presentation, I’m happy to give it 5 stars. A great option for anyone looking for delicious plant-based food, whether you’re vegan or not. 😊

We absolutely loved everything about Chickpea Eatery!! The food was super delicious and Serafina who served us did a wonderful job of making sure we had everything we needed and her English was great. We ordered the Báhn bao to start and they were incredible!! Such amazing texture and flavour. Next we had the spring rolls, which is actually a big plate and quite filling. You definitely want to share these with a friend. Super super delicious! I think I did see some chilli in the dipping sauce, but I didn’t find it spicy. Double check if you can’t handle spice. Finally we had the Da Nang Signature Noodles which of course were very very tasty and not hot spicy. To drink we both ordered the lemongrass, lime & ginger juice which was very refreshing. We’ll definitely be back again soon and cannot wait to do the cooking class next week.

I visited Chickpea Eatery because of the positive reviews, but my experience was only average. The Vegan Pho tasted heavily seasoned and left me feeling like it contained a lot of MSG. The Cao Lau was okay but mostly tofu and noodles without much flavor. The Mango Smoothie tasted diluted, and the Mango Cheesecake didn’t taste like either mango or cheesecake. The outdoor garden setting is pleasant, but there is no air-conditioned seating and the fans weren’t strong enough, so it felt quite hot. The restroom was also dirty during my visit. Service was friendly, and I appreciate the vegan concept, but the food didn’t live up to the expectations. I left feeling disappointed and probably wouldn’t return.

Chickpea Eatery is the absolute best vegan restaurant my husband and I have found so far! We especially love their take on local dishes. The vegan pho, summer rolls, and their mini buns are our absolute favorites—everything tastes incredibly healthy, clean, and unique. We keep coming back for them! Their beetroot cake is also a must-try; it is perfectly balanced, not too sweet, and absolutely amazing. We love almost everything on the menu, and they always provide a complimentary passion fruit dessert at the end! To top it off, the owner and all the staff are wonderful and welcoming. 10/10 highly recommend!

I have never seen so many 5 star reviews for a restaurant. Even Michelin starred restaurants are never that perfect. I did the Hoi An cooking class 2 years ago which was a great experience. This year on a return visit to Da Nang I heard about the opening of another Chickpea restaurant and had to try it. Another 5 stars from me. Beautifully presented food and delicious. Whilst I was there the staff greeted a number of regular customers indicating its popularity. I never expected vegan food to be so popular. Also the story behind the founding owner added another dimension to the experience. Whilst serving wonderful food, the restaurants convey a philosophy embracing Buddhism, peace, harmony, and respect for all living things. That love is evident in the food - nourishment of the body and the soul. Well done. Wish you can export what you have done overseas. Ps. Don’t forget the out of this world vegan cheesecake

Vegan Pho🍜 silky rice noodles in a light aromatic broth with mushrooms,tofu,broccoli,fresh basil & greens😍Super fresh,clean and comforting 😍 🥞 Bánh Xèo Chay-crispy Vietnamese turmeric pancake stuffed with mushrooms & sprouts,wrapped in herbs and dipped in sauce 🔥 🌭Bánh Mì Chay-vegan Vietnamese baguette loaded with tofu,seitan,pickled vegetables,herbs and crispy shallots. 😍Crunch level:🤷🏻‍♂️illegal 🤯😂 🤯I forgot the dessert 🧁 ❤️😍 and the serving was🤗❤️‍🔥 🤗I recommend

A truly delightful restaurant, marked by exceptionally warm and attentive service paired with even stronger cuisine. Whether tempeh, tofu, or the other dishes we enjoyed, everything was executed with care and conviction, once again demonstrating that vegan cooking has no need to stand in anyone’s shadow. We visited as a pair for a light lunch and left both satisfied and comfortably full at a total of 200,000 Dong. The experience felt generous without excess, and balanced in both flavor and value. In summary, this is a place that combines genuine hospitality with confident plant based cooking. It leaves a clear impression and makes the decision to return an easy one.

Attending the cooking class from Chickpea Eatery was definitely one of the highlights of my time in Da Nang! 🥰 It started with a trip to the local market where we got to discover and taste so many interesting herbs and fruits. Then we prepared three amazing dishes and learned so much about Vietnamese culture along the way. Everything was perfectly organized, with plenty of fresh ingredients and a great atmosphere with lots of laughter. I can wholeheartedly recommend this class to anyone visiting Da Nang. 🩷
