CHAY corner in Danang- Vietnamese Dumplings

"You'll leave with a full stomach and a very happy heart." When you visit a restaurant, you usually judge it on food, service, maybe the decor. But sometimes a place goes beyond all of that and just stays with you. This is one of those places. What made CHAY Corner truly special is the family behind it - three generation and all of them running this place with so much love and genuineness. Language barrier was overpowered by their emotions. They served us so warmly, got us to try complimentary dishes just out of pure care, and made the entire experience feel magical. You don't get that everywhere. You rarely get that anywhere. The food is tasty, real, and honest - the kind that feels made at home and with actual love rather than just put together. And the prices are so reasonable that we genuinely ended up paying extra because it felt like the right thing to do. Love this place and the entire family that runs it.

I came to Chay Corner with an open mind after hearing and reading good things about it, but what made this visit truly memorable wasn’t just the food—it was meeting the owner. I had the opportunity to chat with her and hear the story behind how she built her restaurants. Her journey, passion, and dedication were genuinely inspiring. You can immediately tell that this place is much more than just a business to her. It was one of those conversations that stays with you long after you’ve left, and I’m grateful she took the time to share her story with me. For food, I ordered the Special Mix Dumplings, which she recommended, and they absolutely lived up to the recommendation. Beautifully presented, full of different textures and flavours, and unlike any dumplings I’ve had before. On my own, I also ordered the Garlic Fried Rice- with extra chilli, and I’m so glad I did. It was packed with flavour, perfectly seasoned, and had that wonderful wok aroma that makes fried rice so satisfying. Sometimes simple dishes are the hardest to get right, and this one was excellent. Everything was fresh, thoughtfully plated, and clearly prepared with care. The portions were generous, and every bite reflected the passion that goes into the kitchen. As a solo traveller, I also appreciated how welcoming and comfortable the atmosphere felt. Between the outstanding food, the warm hospitality, and the inspiring conversation with the owner, this became much more than just another meal—it became one of the highlights of my time in Da Nang. If you’re looking for exceptional vegetarian food with heart and soul behind it, Chay Corner is an absolute must-visit. I’ll definitely be back the next time I’m in Da Nang.

This restaurant was a very good find. We were in the area for a massage and wanted vegetarian food. This is why I prefer Asian vegetarian dishes overall. Great textures and flavors. We order traditional spring roll, shiitake and veggies mushroom, Yellow noodle “soup”, and lemongrass tofu. Midway through lunch we decided to add the mixed boiled dumplings. The noodle “soup” did not really come in a soup, more like tossed in a flavorful sauce. Every dish had a sprinkle of ground seaweed powder which added another level of umami. Each dish has its own distinct flavor. The fillings of the dumplings were rather small so after a while we could not distinguish the differences. Regardless, as a whole they were still very yummy. We highly recommend this place.

The place is a bit more upscale than basic cafes of this type, but in my opinion, it's a bit overpriced. The portion of fried rice was small. I asked for more tofu, and they said "about 10k extra." You can see the extra tofu in the photo. There are vegan options with more reasonable prices within a 10-minute walk.

Great service and delicious food! We ordered a combo of 7 different dishes and the service was excellent: they even came over to show us how to eat it and gave us some apple slices for dessert. The combo included dumplings, a wonderful soup with a hint of pineapple, mango salad, spring rolls, tofu in tomato sauce with a touch of lemongrass, among other things. I highly recommend it!

The best vegan food we've ever eaten! So fresh and delicious, an absolute explosion of flavor. It was so delicious that we came back twice on consecutive days to try several different dishes. Thank you for your hospitality to the three wonderful ladies at the restaurant; it was lovely to meet you. :) It's a shame we only discovered this restaurant at the end of our trip, otherwise we would have come back even more often! 🫶

Absolutely wonderful experience! The food was delicious, with plenty of both vegetarian and vegan options. 🌱 The owners were incredibly kind and welcoming, and even offered me some traditional dishes to try for free. Such a lovely gesture! I’ll definitely come back the next time I’m in Vietnam. Highly recommended!

The portions are small but I prefer it that way — it means you can try more of all their amazing dishes, made fresh pretty much right in front of you. We got the mixed boiled dumplings, soft pea dumplings, creamy avocado baguette, seaweed fried rice, and shiitake and veggie summer rolls. Everything was delicious and I left feeling satisfied and light. The food is clean, veggie-heavy, and full of love. (I forgot to take pictures of most of the dishes because of how good it was…)
