I used to eat at this restaurant a lot when I was a kid, my family took me there, but I didn't pay much attention to it until I went on a self-guided trip later... This is one of the restaurants frequently listed on Da Nang travel and review websites. I find it perfectly reasonable. - The portions are just right, not too much, or to be more precise, the serving size is just right. The flavor is rich but quite easy to eat. What I like most is the broth of the fish cake noodle soup; it's sweet and fragrant with the aroma of fish cakes and a hint of pumpkin. All the bowls of fish cake noodle soup have pumpkin in them, which is delicious. + The pumpkin in the broth is soft but not mushy, which is nice; it's creamy and nutty. + I found the fish cakes to be "decent," okay to eat, but I wasn't overly impressed. They're fragrant, but the aftertaste still has a slight hint of sea fish. + My favorite part is the meatballs here; ordering fish cake noodle soup with meatballs makes it incredibly satisfying. Unlike Saigon-style crab soup, Da Nang-style crab soup is fragrant, soft, juicy, melts in your mouth, and has no grittiness. - That day, the waiter suggested we order a piece of "Cu" fish. It sounds crude, but the meat was incredibly delicious. My bowl already contained tuna fish cake noodle soup, but eating the "Cu" fish made a distinct difference. The meat was soft, moist, with a mix of lean, fatty, and skin. The skin was gently chewy, followed by the rich, fatty part, and finally the soft, moist flesh. Overall, the piece of "Cu" fish was quite juicy. - Prices start from 55k/bowl, not "cheap" in Da Nang but not too "expensive" either. Check out the menu I photographed. - The staff are friendly and approachable, like family. However, it depends on the staff; when I went, there was an older man and woman who were very talkative, but the others didn't interact much. - The restaurant is spacious, with a beef noodle shop next door. It seems they share the space. But when I went in the evening, it looked a bit unsanitary because there was a lot of leftover trash from previous customers. There were a lot of customers coming and going, so they probably didn't have time to clean everything up. -> It's delicious! I'll come back next time to try other dishes.

I searched for "Me Mui" restaurant online but found it closed, so I went there instead (although I'd known about it for a while, I'm not a fan of fish cake noodle soup, so I didn't visit before). - The restaurant offers a variety of fish to accompany your meal and also serves many types of drinks. - The seasoning is just right, and the fish is fresh.

The local Vietnamese fish noodle shop and ordered the fish ball noodle soup and the fish ball with mackerel noodle soup. The broth was light but full of flavor, and the fish balls had a nice chewy texture. It was served with a generous plate of fresh herbs and vegetables, including Thai basil, pennywort (slightly bitter), and bean sprouts, along with pickled carrots and onions that added a refreshing sweet-and-sour taste. You can easily adjust the flavor to your liking with fresh chili and garlic, chili flakes, lime, or shrimp paste if you enjoy its distinctive aroma. Overall, a comforting and satisfying local meal. (They have a thai language menu)

If you want to experience a truly authentic local breakfast in Da Nang, Ba Phien Fish Cake Noodle Soup is an absolute must-visit! Tucked away on Le Hong Phong street, this traditional street-side eatery is always packed with locals, which is the ultimate sign of quality and fantastic taste. The star of the menu is their legendary fish cake noodle soup. The broth is incredibly savory, naturally sweet, and deeply flavorful, served with generous toppings of springy, homemade fried and steamed fish cakes. You sit on simple stools right by the open kitchen, breathing in the wonderful aromas while enjoying a steaming, comforting bowl. The service is fast, friendly, and wonderfully unpretentious. It is a brilliant, budget-friendly culinary highlight that will give you a genuine taste of local food culture.

The broth is light and sweet. The fish cake is chewy and delicious. The bowl has a really big piece of fish in it. We ordered mackerel noodle soup with extra fish cake, and the fish was incredibly sweet and tender.

The fish cake noodle soup here is quite delicious; the broth is flavorful, the fish cakes are good, and overall it's an easy-to-eat bowl of noodles with an authentic local taste. Today, the tuna I ate was a little too soft, so the experience wasn't as satisfying as I'd hoped. However, this might just be a one-off occurrence. Overall, the restaurant is still good, the food is of decent quality, and I'd be happy to come back and try it again.

I ordered two bowls: One crab soup and one fish cake with crab soup. It's very cheap, only 35k a bowl, and it's huge! The toppings of fish cake and crab soup are incredibly generous. Located right on Le Hong Phong street, the prices are very reasonable. The broth is just right, you can slurp it up without it being too salty. A plus point is that the restaurant has a full combo of pickled onions, chili paste, dried chili, fresh chili, pickled chili, and shrimp paste too. It was so satisfying, I was full after eating.

Good clear fish broth noodles that we haven’t seen outside of vietnam. The bowl with crab paste taste a bit more complex but many seasonings to add so one bowl noodles have like 5 different levels of flavours. Recommend to try in the order of fresh herbs, lime, fish sauce, chilies and shrimp paste. Just go easy on the chilies!
