Today I was having lunch alone, as my usual lunch buddy is on leave so I popped into Texas Chicken at One Punggol for a comforting meal. I ordered the Chicken & Butterfly Prawn Star Box which came with spicy chicken, breaded shrimp, honey butter biscuit, coleslaw, plus a hot mocha and an extra 2pc breaded prawns totalling $17.90 including GST. The food was exactly what I needed, the chicken was crispy outside and juicy inside, the prawns were nicely fried and that warm, flaky honey butter biscuit was such a nice touch. Portions felt generous for the price and the outlet was clean, bright and had plenty of seating perfect for a quiet solo meal. Ordering via the self service kiosk was quick and straightforward too. The only downside was the wait time, even though it was pretty quiet when I ordered, my food took much longer than expected to be ready for collection. It felt a little unnecessary for such a slow period. That said, the staff were friendly when I picked up my order and everything was served hot and fresh. Pricing remains reasonable for a filling, fuss free meal so it’s still a solid go to spot in the area. I hope the team can look into speeding up order turnaround even during quieter times, I’ll definitely be back, probably with my lunch buddy next time! Food Quality: 4/5 — Consistent, tasty and satisfying Value for Money: 4/5 — Generous portions for the price Service / Speed: 2/5 — Unexpectedly long wait despite low crowd Store Presentation: 4/5 — Clean, well laid out, comfortable ⭐ OVERALL: 3/5

This outlet was less than satisfactory. The spicy chicken tenders were quite tough, and the fried chicken overall wasn’t very impressive; Texas really needs to step up its fried chicken game. The Mexicana burger was alright, just decent but better than the fried chicken or tenders. The chicken rice smells fragrant but could do with a little salt to cure its blandness. The only positives were that the honey butter biscuit here was slightly better than at other outlets, though still far from how it used to be when Texas first re-entered Singapore, and that this outlet is noticeably more spacious and less crowded than the NEX branch.

Excited when Texas Chicken Singapore decided to open an outlet here at One Punggol. We have never had Texas Chicken Singapore before and we were eager to give it a try today. We were greedy and went for the 8 pieces family deal @ S$38.90. OMG.. it’s the worst fried chicken we ever had!!! How can someone get so bad with fried chicken?! The fried chicken skin is so blend and the batter is generally tough with some portion having such thick batter that it is too hard to bite down. I literally tears away the entire deep fried chicken skin, which is supposedly the most delicious part of a fried chicken!! It’s that bad!! Even the mashed potato is barely at the standard of a military cookhouse food. The staffs at this new outlets are not friendly at all. Not a single word or smile from them throughout my entire purchase. I seriously wonder how Texas Chicken Singapore survived here for these many years. I’m sure if this outlet continues to serve such terrible tasting fried chicken, it will definitely wind up sooner than later. Extremely disappointing!!! I want my money back!!! 😭 P.S.: Only the Honey Biscuits are decent. Nicer than Popeyes Chicken cos it’s more moist. Popeyes Chicken Biscuits are always so dry that I always throw them away.

My mom popped by to purchase the $1 fried chicken today and was looked down on by a middle age male staff that was attending to her in the afternoon. As my mom and her friends were sitting down inside the empty store to rest after collecting the food, the male staff was staring at them with a stern face. Let this be a lesson learned, just because someone purchases $1 fried chicken doesn’t mean they can’t afford a proper meal. My mom bought this for her grandchild who just wanted a fried chicken to snack on but does not need to be looked down on. If that’s the case, don’t even start a campaign like this.
