4.5/5 Stars! Din Tai Fung (Waterway Point): Consistent Quality and Great Service! Din Tai Fung at Waterway Point continues to impress. I recently took my daughter there, and we had a lovely experience. The service was excellent, and the ambiance was great. We were seated relatively quickly, with only about 4 groups ahead of us. We ordered the Prawn Pancake ($11.80), Chicken Xiao Long Bao [10pcs] ($13.80), and a Solo Feast ($16.60). The food was delicious, as always. With service charge and GST, the total came to $50.60. Overall, a highly recommended dining experience! Ratings: • Food: 5/5 Stars (Always delicious and consistent!) • Service: 5/5 Stars (Excellent and attentive) • Atmosphere: 4/5 Stars (Pleasant and clean)

Only several food is good. For example fried rice. Others like xiao long bao, won't say bad but not authentic. The chicken soup is good but small and expensive. Noodles are worse than food court but very expensive. Overall food flavor very normal for this high price. Even plain water needs $1. The only thing good is service. (Not as good as Hai Di Lao but better than many other Singapore restaurants).

A restaurant I'll order takeaway weekly, and visit twice a month. Service always awesome like day 1 they came to Singapore. Unlike Some other restaurants open 1st 2yrs like best service but slowly all gone. Ding Tai Fung always the best, their staff, their service, and the food. The restaurant always very clean and neat too. Standard always there.

The xiao long bao, dumplings, noodle dishes and fried rice are excellent. The service is very friendly. The consistency in quality food and service is unlike any others. Always a pleasure visiting a Din Tai Fung outlet anywhere on the island.

There are many DTF branches but I particularly like this branch. The service is amazing and they serve chrysanthemum tea here which I really enjoy because only a few branches serve this. Food wise is also good not compromising its standard. It has been consistent. Thumbs up!

Honestly, this was one of the most appalling and poorly handled dining experiences I have ever had. I clearly asked for pork fried rice, yet the male waiter made his own assumption that I meant the pork chop fried rice instead of the shredded pork fried rice. At no point did he bother to clarify the order, repeat it back, or confirm which version I wanted. This is basic restaurant service and something staff should already be trained to do. The most shocking part was what happened after the incorrect dish arrived. I immediately informed the staff, politely and clearly, that this was not what I had ordered. Instead of apologising sincerely, taking accountability, or trying to resolve the issue professionally, they simply handed the plate back to me and essentially implied that I had to accept the mistake because they “couldn’t change it.” What made the situation even more infuriating was the attitude from the staff during the discussion. While they were asking around to find out who took my order, the male waiter who served me literally glared at me in a way that felt hostile and accusatory, as though I was somehow at fault for their mistake. That reaction was completely inappropriate and honestly made the experience even worse. Rather than showing professionalism or basic courtesy, the attitude I received felt defensive, dismissive, and unnecessarily confrontational. The issue was caused entirely by poor communication and staff negligence, yet I was made to feel like I was the inconvenience for pointing out an incorrect order. There was no proper apology, no accountability, and no genuine effort to resolve the matter. The expectation seemed to be that customers should simply tolerate staff mistakes without question, which is an incredibly poor standard of service. What makes this even more frustrating is how easily this entire situation could have been avoided. A simple clarification such as “Which pork fried rice would you like?” would have prevented the mistake entirely. Instead, assumptions were made, and when the error became obvious, the staff handled it with an attitude that was honestly shocking. Management seriously needs to review how their staff are trained, especially in communication, accountability, and customer service recovery. No customer should be treated with hostility or made to feel uncomfortable simply because they pointed out an incorrect order. Based on this experience, the service standards here were extremely disappointing and left a genuinely negative impression.

Ordered 10pcs Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao. It’s packed with a shredded ginger and two sachets of vinegar on the side. Delicious!
