I have seen some very nice reviews of this chendol stall, hence decided to have a try. Personally, I must say I don't think it's nice. Yes, the coconut milk is hand-pressed and gula melaka is nice, but I think that's quite standard. The thing that makes me feel otherwise is the chendol(the green jelly) itself. It doesn't taste fragrant enough. Instead of using all kidney beans, I will suggest stall owner to have a mix of kidney and azuki beans to give texture. Overall, the chendol is nicer than the ones in foodcourt but no fantastic. I not too sure why it got itself in the Michellin guide. I prefer Old Amoy Chendol instead.

One of my favourite places to have chendol in Singapore. The Gula Melaka is made in house and you can taste the difference, it feels more intense and the flavour is deeper than the normal varieties. You can also taste richness of the pandan in the chendol which is nicely balanced by the plump beans. Overall, a perfectly balanced chendol for a hot weather day. Cost: $3 for the standard chendol

Balanced and yummy chendol This spot offers a near perfect chendol, for me. The balance of coconut milk, palm sugar, chendol and ice shavings are well very balanced. Sweet, creamy, texture and mouth chew. Why not 5 stars you may ask I ordered the version with the kidney beans. Personally I would prefer the kidney beans to be softer, as this allows the taste to infuse into the mix in a more pronounced note. But definitely worth a few more trip down for this.

June 2026 I’ve been itching for months to come back for my cendol fix. I made a beeline for Beauty World Food Centre straight after landing in Singapore—otherwise I’d have had to wait until Wednesday. I noticed the silver spoons are being replaced by plastic ones which is disappointing. Looking at past pics, I realised I kept ordering the same thing! Will go for durian topping when I am back next. —————————————————————————————————————— Feb 2026 Thought I have identified the best cendol stall/franchise in SG until I chanced upon this inconspicuous stall a couple of days ago. This is a little gem tucked away in a corner, easily missed by many. The stall’s decor is seriously dated but in a positive light. It’s rustic, clean and tidy - nothing is out of place. Cannot express my joy that I am not having my cendol from those takeaway plastic bowls. It is served in a porcelain bowl with a metallic spoon - very old schooled. The amount of coconut milk, gula melaka is just right - not overly sweet or heavy with too much coconut milk. It’s has the right balance. It’s the best cendol I have had in my entire life (probably better than the ones in Penang) and I still beat myself that it took me this long to discover this place. Better late than never, they say. I can have this everyday…

Was in the mood for chendol and tried these two stalls within close proximity of each other. The other stall being the one at Bt Timah hawker centre. Both came with good ratings but I feel this stall is the clear winner. I ordered the basic bowl of chendol which is just gula melaka and chendol. The coconut milk is thick and fresh and the gula melaka sweet and fragrant it is cheaper as well and comes with attap chee Overall an excellent bowl of refreshing chendol.

The ratio of the ingredients were off. The gula melaka was too cloying and overpowering, yet too thin. The coconut milk was too diluted and lacked aroma. The amount of kidney beans added was too much for a small bowl. Only saving grace was the handmade chendol, which was palatable at best.

Used to be good but standard has deteriorated drastically. Shaved ice is very coarse, chendol jelly is hard and not fragrant. Kidney beans weee hard too. Gula Melaka was saccharine and coconut milk was not aromatic. Not worth the Michelin recommendation anymore.

Had the normal chendol and added on ah tap ji, costs $2.80 per bowl. They were really generous with the gula melaka and I love that but they used kidney beans as opposed to smaller red beans and the ice melted really fast. Overall a good and affordable bowl of old school chendol!
