Not worthy of the hype. Been to places for half of the price in Ubud and had much better experience. We went to Mozaic yesterday to celebrate a birthday, we chose it because of instagram reels but to be honest compared to other places in ubud it was not so good. We had the 8 dishes menu and some of them were very well done and tasty but some were not well prepared and very hard to eat. The trout was overcooked and impossible to cut. My friend’s Wagyu had too much grease and since the meat is just smoked it was unpleasant to eat. The desserts were not very special in my opinion. The lemon tart was beautiful but didn’t have anything special to its flavour, also it had a sour end to the taste that comes from not proper preparation of the lemon zest. The ice cream didn’t make too much sense to me. It was very beautiful to look at but it had many problems: - the jelly was too cold due to the ice cream so it couldn’t be cut so also very difficult to eat - when you tried to cut the jelly the ice cream would spill from the plate making a mess - the big piece of strawberry didn’t match the delicate components of the desert, it felt like it shouldn’t be there - the pieces of the native fruit used to decorate tasted too strong I didn’t like the rice pudding texture on the chocolate dish, but this is my personal taste. The Happy Birthday sweet was a very small cup bacon ice cream but it was very bad. 5 Guys make it better. She didn’t felt honoured on her special day. They didn’t say happy birthday or anything. You can’t choose what dishes to eliminate from your 8 dishes menu, so even if we thought it was too much to eat 8, we would miss the two main dishes. I think this is not very customer focused and not sustainable to waste food. The price charged for the 6 dishes menu should be enough to cover the choice. About the rhythm: the plates were coming too fast and even when we asked for a pause they didn’t give us not even 10 minutes before bringing the next dish. In the end was too much food for the amount of time and this also affected our enjoyment to the experience. The wine was good but the cocktail was also not very balanced. The flavour was not intense like it had too much water. I understand that the intention was good behind the local ingredients being at the table but then I would try to make it less robotic by maybe explaining the history of the dish or how the ingredients are sourced, or how the choice of that specific ingredient is positively impacting the community like in other fine dining experiences in Ubud. Saying “this is a coconut” doesn’t add to the dining experience. I didn’t understand why we changed tables twice. We had the welcoming canapé at the reception, then starters inside and the main dish outside. The indoor dining room was smelling like mold, maybe from the air conditioning.

A very special 8 course experience, taken by friends for an attentive night, starting with delicious cocktails and amuse-bouche at the from bar before being introduced to the middle restaurant and finally to the outdoor patio. Excellent combination of local and seasonal flavors, beautiful presentations, quaint and elegant. Highly recommended albeit the elevated price point for Ubud standards, then again this is Ubud starting to play at a different level. Well done to the team.

We booked a special honeymoon dinner here and it was the biggest disappointment and by far our worst meal in Bali. The food was bland, service was very questionable, and I couldn’t even finish one dish. The ingredients did not go well together at all. We actually changed our 8 course meal to 6 course mid way through so the meal would end sooner. We had different servers every meal and felt watched our entire dinner. Not sure why the servers kept staring us down throughout the entire meal. To top it all off, they brought us outside in the garden for our main course, which was full of mosquitos and we ended up leaving with tons of bites. Do not waste your money!!!! So overpriced and one of the worst meals I’ve had while travelling to date. If you don’t believe me… just look what they sent us home with.

Dining at Mosaic in Ubud was nothing short of extraordinary. From the outside, the entrance appears deceptively modest, giving little hint of the remarkable experience that awaits within. Stepping inside, we were welcomed into an elegant lounge before being escorted to a refined dining room where an unforgettable sensory journey began. The experience opened with a series of exquisite snacks and entrées that delighted every sense. Each course was beautifully presented, thoughtfully composed, and showcased exceptional technique and creativity. Every bite revealed layers of flavour, texture, and aroma that reflected the restaurant’s dedication to culinary excellence. As the evening progressed, we were invited into a stunning garden setting that was both elegant and incredibly romantic. Surrounded by the beauty of nature, we enjoyed the main courses and desserts in an atmosphere that perfectly complemented the cuisine. The weather could not have been more ideal, enhancing an already magical evening as we savoured this delicate and memorable gustatory journey. The desserts were truly decadent—an indulgent finale that provided the perfect conclusion to a remarkable meal. Throughout the entire experience, the staff were attentive, warm, and professional, anticipating our needs with genuine hospitality and ensuring every moment felt special.

A Flawless Birthday Dinner — One of the Best Dining Experiences I’ve Ever Had From the very first bite to the last, Mozaic delivered an absolutely exceptional evening. My wife and I opted for the seasonal tasting menu, which was a masterclass in creativity and execution — every course felt thoughtful, balanced, and genuinely exciting. I also chose the wine pairing, and the white wine selections were outstanding — each pairing felt carefully considered and elevated the dishes beautifully. The reds were solid as well, though I felt they didn’t quite match the ambition of the whites; with only two red pairings on the menu, there’s perhaps room to expand there. That said, it’s a very minor note in an otherwise stellar experience. What truly touched us was that the team had prepared a small birthday surprise for me — a lovely, personal gesture that made the evening even more memorable. The atmosphere, the service, the cuisine — everything was in perfect harmony. If you’re in Ubud and looking for a fine dining experience that will stay with you long after you leave, Mozaic is the answer.

Mozaic was one of those dinners that makes you feel the island before you understand the menu. The evening began with the ingredients placed at the centre of the table: not as decoration, but almost as a quiet thesis. Everything that followed seemed to return to them. The Mother of Pearl Tartar had brightness and nerve; the Coral Trout with coconut emulsion felt delicate and unmistakably local; the Foie Gras Snow was the beautiful surprise of the night, strange in the best possible way; and the Wagyu 9+ Tenderloin had the kind of confidence that does not need excess. What stayed with me was not only the precision of the food, but the way the whole experience was built around Bali itself: its produce, its warmth, its rhythm. The hospitality took Balinese friendliness to another level: attentive, generous, exact, but never stiff. A rare dinner: elegant without being cold, local without being obvious, and memorable without trying too hard.

Spent my birthday here with my husband and we ordered the seasonal menu, 8 course meal - it absolutely didn’t disappoint. With the canapés, extra bread courses, and petit fours, it honestly felt more like an 11-course experience. What I appreciated most was how they incorporated local ingredients into the menu, which made each dish feel unique. They were also attentive in checking for any food allergies beforehand. While some dishes were a hit-or-miss for my husband, I personally enjoyed the meal from start to finish. Despite it being fine dining with smaller portions, we actually left the venue with very full stomachs. Special mention as well to the manager and the gentleman who tended to us throughout the evening - they were attentive, and truly helped make the entire experience even more memorable on my bday! My only small suggestion would be regarding the desserts. Personally, having two dessert courses was a little too much by the end of the meal and perhaps keeping it to just one?

18+ only. This place is clearly designed for people who enjoy quirky and out-of-the-box experiences. The food comes as a set menu. I found it difficult to judge the quality fairly because it’s not really my style of dining. It would have been helpful to know beforehand that the dining is set-menu only and that the venue is restricted to guests aged 18 and over
