Awesome experience at Lo Hey! We were here for a weekday birthday lunch celebration and were greeted with great hospitality! Special thanks to Reuben and his team for the kind attention and generosity! Everyone was wowed by the dishes and had their own favourites. Food missing in the photos were so good they didn’t get a chance to be captured. The kids loved the crab roe noodles, sweet and sour pork and the folks loved the Uni mayo prawn, claypot garlic scallops with vermicelli and E-Fu Noodles. The French beans with just garlic were surprisingly exceptional although simple. The star would definitely be the Lo Hey Chicken salad that made a great spicy and sour appetiser that is a must try. Definitely return to eat very soon to try the crab dishes next!

We recently dined at Lo Hey at One Holland Village, and it turned out to be much more than just a meal – it was a delightful experience from start to finish. We started with the Supreme Soy Sauce Fried HK Noodle – it was rather tasty, with that unmistakable wok-hei flavour and a savoury depth that kept us reaching for more. We particularly enjoyed the Scrambled Egg with Shrimp; the egg was silky, wet, and custard-like – exactly the way we love it. The Sizzling Chicken Claypot with Ginger was another highlight – the chicken was deeply infused with flavour, savoury and robust. My only minor gripe was that I kept biting into soft garlic cloves hidden in the dish, which I personally don't enjoy – but that's purely a matter of preference. For drinks, the HK Style Yuan Yang Milk Tea was solid – well-balanced and robust. However, the HK Style Milk Tea leaned a little too sweet for my liking, so do ask for less sugar if you prefer it more traditional. What truly elevated the evening, though, was the service. The founder, Rueben, personally came to our table and offered us half a bowl of white rice to try. He enthusiastically shared that this particular rice costs three times more than Thai fragrant rice or the rice served at popular spots like Tai Er or Xiang Xiang – and it's low-GI, which was a nice touch for the health-conscious. He was incredibly friendly and kept checking in to ensure we were satisfied with every dish. We also learnt that he runs another restaurant in Geylang with a different menu, primarily focused on seafood – definitely worth keeping in mind for our next outing. The ambience deserves a special mention too. The restaurant is decked out like an old-school cinema – complete with vintage movie posters, a ticketing booth, and even a cinema entrance with curtains and doors. They were playing old Cantonese tunes that perfectly matched the nostalgic decor, making the whole setting wonderfully immersive.

Located inside One Holland Village, Lo Hey Hong Kong Seafood serves up Hong Kong-style zi char with a seafood focus, surrounded by nostalgic décor inspired by classic HK cinema and old movie posters. The standout was the Signature Hairy Crab Roe Noodle — rich crab roe sauce loaded with generous chunks of crab meat, coating bouncy noodles beautifully. Every bite was packed with satisfying crab flavour. The Claypot Scallop Vermicelli was another winner. Fragrant with plenty of garlic, while the scallops were cooked just right, retaining a tender bite without becoming chewy. Also enjoyed the Claypot Lemongrass Prawn Ball — aromatic and appetising, with spices that reminded me of Thai-style flavours. A fun spot for comforting HK-style seafood dishes with a nostalgic atmosphere.

Came for the crab roe noodles seen on social media. It was good, the roe sauce was thick, you could see the bits of crab flesh and the vinegar in the noodles gave a nice dimension. Side dishes of fungus and cucumber were yummy too. Staff were attentive - they did frequent rounds to check on many diners including us though we sat far in the back. 1 of them noticed I'd was trying to avoid hitting the elevated crab roe bowl and she offered to clear it immediately. Easy to reserve seats, many diners but not full house on weekday lunchtime.

This was my first time having lunch here. It's not far from the MRT station, so it's easy to get there. The chicken loi tatami, originally a dish only served during Singapore's Chinese New Year, is now available at other times, which is quite unique and, most importantly, delicious. The bok choy was served in a clay pot with pork cracklings, and it tasted good. For Chinese food, you need to order more people to try more dishes.

I was disappointed by how this place manages its queue and reservation system. As long as reservations are made, tables are held for them and they're seated in the air-conditioned area. But if you're a walk-in, you're expected to wait in a mosquito-infested outdoor area or sit outside with the same problem. My friends and I were bitten within seconds of walking to our outdoor table. We requested to move indoors but were told all the indoor tables were reserved. This was reasonable if the area wasnt infested with mozzies. We checked if we could leave our numbers due to the situation but were told that we had to queue outside. So we had to march the whole time as we waiting until an indoor table became available. Context wise, we were literally next in line, there wasnt a queue, and both the indoor and outdoor dining areas were only about half full, making the whole experience even more frustrating. The door host showed little empathy throughout. The signature chicken was served quickly and tasted fantastic. However, the signature crab took more than an hour to arrive and was overcooked and dry. Other than the door host, all the staff were relatively courteous. Unfortunately, the poor queue management and lack of flexibility overshadowed what could otherwise have been a pleasant dining experience.

Note that they have no more fresh seafood or buffet options. Now is like a normal zi char, focus on some of their best dishes. Highly recommended is their coconut chicken soup. They used grilled old coconut with both pork and chicken, cooked with chinese herbs. It’s better than any other versions that i’ve tried. The other dishes were ok only. Service was slow on my day. Heard that other days are better.
