Din Tai Fung @ ION Orchard

I love the food at DTF, and this Ion outlet is no different. Unfortunately, the acoustics are absolutely horrendous, which makes eating in this outlet a very unpleasant experience, where you need to almost shout to hear the people you are dining with. I would never return to this particular outlet until they have installed some acoustic panelling or softer furnishings to absorb the sound. What worries me is, that the same problem has happened at their Raffles City outlet after they recently renovated there, which implies it might be something that the company is doing on purpose to discourage people from dining for too long. I sincerely hope I am wrong in that concern, and that they have simply hired inexperienced interior designers!

First time trying dim Tai Fung Chinese restaurant...this restaurant has so many different types of dumplings...that was what made me try this restaurant today...I love dumplings...this restaurant is qr code scan order...I ordered the vegetarian dumplings...the vegetarian dumplings is green in colour...this is my first time trying green colour dumplings...😁n I also ordered the grass jelly w glutinous rice dessert... something which I like about this restaurant is that while my food comes toe table...the bill also comes to my table...I gave eaten at soany restaurants...but the bill I will not get...what asked for the bill the staff say go payment counter...I loved the green colour vegetarian dumplings...it looks n taste v v nice...there r 6pcs n 10pcs...this isy first time trying...so therefore I ordered 6pcs...but aft trying the dumplings I regretted buying 6pcs...felt that I should have bought 10 PCs...there is mushroom n green spinach inside the dumplings...👍 For the dumplings I give full 5 stars...but for the dessert I was not really happy about it...the taste is exactly like the pulur hitam in the dessert shops... Only difference is that added grass jelly in it...not only that but it also looks exactly like the pulut hitam dessert...oh n the another difference is that on desserts shop served hot...but here served cold... Moreover I was not happy with the serving size of the pulut hitam dessert in this restaurant... considering I paid $6.80 for this dessert...but the serving size of the bowl so small...i was not happy about it...I would rather have taken another 6pcs dumplings...would have been so much better I felt...for the pulut hitam dessert I m giving only 3 stars ok good...the taste was nice but was not that happy about it... Service I m giving 5 stars for the person who served me my dumplings n the dessert...but I was not that happy w the payment counter...I paid cash... It is $21.70...i gave the money to him n was standing there...but I felt he was shouting at me that i only gave him $12... But I really felt that I gave him $22...but I did not want to argue...gave him another $10 took my $0.30 change n left from there... Atmosphere I m giving 5 stars... beautiful restaurant...clean dining area... Overall I give 3 stars...ok good 😁😁😁

Newly opened outlet at ION. We enjoyed Michelin gourmet bid guide restaurant that has great service. We enjoyed the dishes we frequently ordered at DTF: a must to order 10-piece Steamed Pork Xiao Long Bao $12.80. Rolled Fragrant Pork with absolutely delicious Crushed Garlic sweet-savory sauce $11.00. Original Shanghainese Drunken Chicken $10.80 & Hot & sour soup that we find slightly blend but lots of ingredients. Recommend.

yi xuan is really polite towards us! And reallt attentive really excellent service :)) will definitely revisit ion orchard dtf all thanks to yi xuan had a really great time!

Sep 2026. New branch at ION. Works and tastes the same as other DTF branches in Singapore. Staff look new but given time they will gain enough experience and provide better service.

New branch opened at Ion! Food and service standards consistent with other branches. Outlet is a tad smaller and I’d expect it will get very crowded soon.

The signature dumplings were supremely disappointing at this outlet. Dumpling skin thicker than my own skin.
