Whether you go plain or try their filled versions, they’re consistently solid. Beyond that, the rest of their pastry lineup leans toward refined rather than flashy. Nothing feels overly experimental, but everything is executed with care—think quality over gimmicks. It’s the kind of place where you don’t need to overthink your order; most things will hit the mark. The vibe matches the food—relaxed, slightly rustic, and not trying too hard. Good for a slow morning or a casual catch-up rather than a quick grab-and-go. Overall: Bastille is a dependable spot for well-made pastries in Joo Chiat. ​I had a wonderful experience at Bastille Bakery. The entire setting is incredibly warm and welcoming, making it the perfect, cozy spot to sit back and relax. ​Along with their fantastic bakes, their hot drinks are really good—properly brewed, flavorful, and served at the perfect temperature. It’s a wonderful neighborhood gem with a great atmosphere. Highly recommend stopping by!

Came here this morning on a Saturday around 10.40am because we wanted to try many things and didn’t want to be disappointed should things sell out. For savouries we had the ham and Gruyère cheese croissant which was delicious and savoury, the quiche lorraine was fine. For sweets we tried the chocolate eclair which had the most wonderful dark chocolate creme and a housed in a good shell. The lemon yuzu confit tart was very well done too, the lemon curd was soft and tart. Coffee was alright and seems reasonably priced. Couldn’t help but take away a pain au chocolat and chouquettes! Service was alright and appreciate the little details such as warm clean utensils, lemon water and cold plates for the cold desserts.

Its roomy and cosy ambience, along with an open-concept kitchen, contributes to a relaxed & welcoming atmosphere. 🔴 Note = 🔴 The listed pastry prices already include the 10% service charge and 9% GST. 🟢 The menu and what we ordered: ************************************** 🟢 Bastille Bakery features a good variety of French-style bakes ➖️ including flaky croissants, sweet tarts, and filled viennoiseries, along with savoury options like quiches and stuffed pastries. ❇️ Everything is freshly baked on-site and displayed beautifully at the glass counters. 🟨 Ham & Cheese Croissant SGD12 ************************************* 🟨 My hubby and I shared this delicious croissant. ➖️ This is a well-crafted ham and cheese croissant with flaky & buttery layers, generously filled with savoury ham and melted Gruyere for a rich, satisfying bite. 🟨 The Lemon & Yuzu Confit Tart (SGD13) was beautifully crafted, with a rich, tangy lemon curd lifted by yuzu’s bright citrus notes, all resting on a crisp & buttery pastry base. 🟨 We both had hot cafe lattes customised to a single espresso shot for each cup. ▪︎ The coffee milk was mild and creamy, with the nutty notes shining through smoothly in each sip. 🟣 Service = the service crew were affable, friendly, attentive and polite. ---- At the counter, Serene & Stella took our orders and my Ham and Cheese Croissant was recommended by the co-founder, Wan Lyn. 🟣 Chef JD, the French patissier who co-owns the bakery, is the Head Pastry Chef here, and I was told he was formerly from Tiong Bahru Bakery. ➖️ And his expertise shows in the fine textures, balanced flavours, and polished execution of each tart and pastry. 🟣 I highly recommend this cafe bakery if you wish to get a taste of authentically crafted French pastries made by an experienced French master artisan. 🟣 Thank you to the team for their omotenashi spirit of hospitality today. What a lovely new cafe that just opened on Joo Chiat Street. Tried the pain au chocolat, praline eclair and chouquettes. The pain au chocolat was buttery and flaky, but still with that lovely chew - really transported me back to Paris. We shared the praline eclair, and while slightly pricy, was worth every dollar. It had a dual filling, as well as a crunch feuilletine layer hiding underneath the lovely piping of praline, and the choux pastry itself was baked to perfection. One of the best eclairs I’ve had in a long while. The chouquettes were also on the pricy side, but again, baked to perfection. Crisp on the outside but still with a chew, with a generous coating of pearl sugar. The coffee is serviceable - but that’s tough cos you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to good coffee in this neighborhood. But 10/10 you must come for their pattiseries and viennoiseries.

A new bakery and fairly local to me is always a delight, and it could not have been a sweeter find (pun intended) after sampling some of their baked goods - the choux puffs (not sure of their name) are so airy and delicious, and the almond cream croissant was also great - the marzipan filling is more moist than a typical almond croissant, I guess that is the addition of the cream, but something to note for those who prefer a crumblier interior. Coffee was good too. We were a little too early to consider sandwiches but these looked amazing - and so I am excited to try them! The bakery seemed to be filling up already, and there are two small tables outside for those with canine companions. Staff will bring out water for dogs too, which is always appreciated, especially as these outdoor tables are not fully covered (though the building itself provides shade).

We tried their Panini, Croissant & Quiche. The croissant is flaky with good balance of butter. The quiche tastes good especially when it is served hot. I personally prefer Sautéed Shroom than the Lorraine Classique. All mains come with side salad though the dressing is a bit too sour to my liking. We also tried a few desserts on the menu. Among them, the lemon yuzu really stands out. It is sufficiently flavored and have a good crunch to them. It goes well with the coffee. The staffs are attentive and there is no GST/service++. Good experience overall..... I will definitely be coming back.

After our trip to Paris, we’ve been craving chouquettes, and we were absolutely thrilled to discover that this bakery had them! They were every bit as delightful as we remembered—light, airy, and perfectly sweet. We also had the chance to try their raspberry almond vanilla tart, and it was a 10/10—so delicious! We can't wait to return and try more of their pastries. On top of that, we think they serve the best black coffee in Singapore! Highly, highly recommend - You won’t be disappointed!
