So I have been looking for good croissants in Singapore and petit pain has the best croissant I have tasted so far in Singapore. It loses out to the best I’ve had in other countries though with better shatter and taste. I got 3 items, plain croissant (they do a 3 day process to get this right) was excellent, the raisin escargot too. Yumminess. I did not enjoy the lemon brioche as I found the curd too tart and will not order that again. Quaint little shop and I think you have to go earlier to get all the selection available. When I reached after 12 some items were sold out. Will be back! Info on the sign at the door fyi :) petit pain small batch from scratch * Méthode Respectus Panis •; (our preferred baking method) • Long Fermentation ~18 hours • Natural Levain This method helps to bring out the intrinsic taste of wheat; gives time for gluten to be broken down for easier digestion 100% Natural Ingredients • * No Improvers and Additives * French and Japanese Flour * Elle et Vire Butter

Tried several items, and every one of them was impressive. The flavors were rich and well developed, making this place absolutely worth the queue in Singapore. Each pastry and bread showed a strong sense of balance, especially in the use of butter and sugar — well defined without being overwhelming. The breads were baked in a classic style, with a proper finish that brought out deep aroma and structure. Nothing felt underbaked or rushed. A consistently excellent bakery. Everything we tried was delicious.

Petit Pain located in a shophouse along Joo Chiat Place is for takeaways only. Clean, neat, bright, spacious, yes + good vibes. On the door, pasted notices for November’s opening schedule and a notice : Maximum “5 Viennoiseries and 5 cake/bread” only per customer. Cash or Paynow only. Always long queue and when there is no queue, there might be a chance that it is all sold-out or if you are lucky something’s hot coming out of the oven. Whatever that is sold here tastes so good, so natural and no preservatives that you would want to grab whatever that is available. Spent $24 here, see images of my 5 pcs loot (*'▽'*)(*´∀`)♪. Highly recommend to visit if around Joo Chiat or East Coast side of Singapore to see the surprises on the shelves that are available to you at that moment.

I think that the chocolate brioche is a very good treat. It is five star. The consistency and texture of the chocolate was spot on. Their financiers have a sweet and nutty taste. They would only be better if they were bigger! Their croissants are perfection. They are wonderfully laminated and buttery. Highly recommended.

I’ve eaten many croissants in France and Singapore. This one is by far the best I’ve eaten in Singapore. It has a light, fluffy interior and a gently crisp exterior. I had the luck to eat one fresh out of the oven. Ask them when the next batch will be out, if they’ve run out of something. This place is obviously popular in the morning. It’s primarily takeout because there’s only a couple of tables inside. For the quality, the prices are very reasonable. Forget Tiong Bahru bakery and other chains - they’re more expensive and not even as good as this.

Great croissant and pain au chocolat. I will definitely come back for these. The tarte au sucre was lovely too. I wouldn't get the chocolate brioche or financier again though. They were not to the same standard as the viennoiseries, not bad but not great. As mentioned many times there is a queue even before opening. It's best to show up early.

Dear owner, would be nice for u to install a slow door closer at the main entrance as the door always swing back inwards whenever someone exit the store and the last person at the Q inside the store will get hit accidentally
