Aburi-EN (Causeway Point)

I ordered the takeaways from the orchard branch and found the food was delicious. So when I was at the causeway point and saw this restaurant, I straight away went in to order our meals. The Truffles Buta Don tastes even better than the normal Buta Don which I got from orchard branch. Husband had Teriyaki Don and likes it. The chicken skin is crunchy and tasty yummy too. The miso soup tasted just nice to pair with the tasty meal. Overall, delicious and affordable meals. Service was good and fast as we were there at 5pm during weekdays. Ambience is cosy and the place is clean. Definitely will patronised this restaurant again.

I ordered the chicken nanban don and the chicken teriyaki don for takeaway, and both were underwhelming. The chicken nanban didn’t come with any nanban sauce (see pic attached) so it ended up dry and lacked flavour (it was just essentially chicken karage on white rice…). The teriyaki don wasn’t much better. Overall, it was a disappointing experience, and I won’t be ordering again. Will definitly skip this outlet.

I got the beef udon set lunch while hubby tried the ala carte wagyu beef don. He didn’t like it as the beef was too heavily marinated with Teriyaki sauce. My udon was better although I think the seasoning was too high handed to taste the natural flavour of the beef. My set came with a salad, 2 gyoza and a hot tea. His came with a free appetiser and miso soup as a weekday special.

Nice and clean environment, tables are well spaced out so everyone has ample space. Staff is friendly and very helpful; service with a smile indeed. Food is awesome, the pork and roasted chicken combo is unbelievably succulent and flavourful while the beef is tasty and loaded with juices, not to mention food is served within 20 minutes and come in good portions. An absolute enjoyment.

Although the buta don looks exactly like the one at Paragon Outlet, the flavor was very different. This version seemed to have a lot of starch added and barely any char-grilled taste at all. Hmm… pretty disappointed.

Yummy food, and value for money set meals. Will return and recommend
