The Katsu Loin Don and Katsu Fillet Don were amazing. The coating was perfectly crispy, while the pork was soft, tender, and juicy with just the right amount of fat. The highlight of the meal was definitely the free-flow shredded cabbage with sesame dressing, it was fresh and crunchy. The miso soup was thick, rich, and flavourful, making it a great complement to the meal. One downside was that the free-flow plain water costs $1, which felt a little excessive. I also found that the barbecue sauce didn’t pair particularly well with the pork, as it altered the flavour a little. Overall, it was a very satisfying meal, and I’d happily return for the crispy, juicy katsu and the excellent cabbage. Parking was quite full during lunch time even though there are 800 lots in the mall. The place was also quiet and nice for a relaxing afternoon.

Imakatsu – Chicken Breast & Prawn Set 🍤🍗 If you’re looking for a lighter take on Japanese tonkatsu, the Chicken Breast & Prawn Set at Imakatsu is a great choice. The chicken breast is surprisingly tender and juicy beneath its light, crispy panko coating, while the prawn is fresh, crunchy, and fried to perfection. A standout bonus is the free-flow shredded cabbage, which is crisp, refreshing, and pairs beautifully with the rich tonkatsu. Served with rice, miso soup, and a selection of condiments, it’s a balanced and satisfying meal from start to finish.

Was walking by in Star Vista and decided to try out this Katsu shop for dinner. I ordered the Miso Katsu and Kaki fry both were very delicious! The Katsu was tender and the oysters were very fresh and juicy. Paired perfectly with the free-flow cabbage and free refill rice. A bit pricey but the food was definitely worth it, will come back again.

I think it’s one of the best and most authentic Japanese pork katsu in Singapore. The pork katsu tastes amazing. The price is reasonable, and the service was attentive and friendly.

I visited this restaurant alone during Saturday lunch. The interior was quiet and not very crowded, which made for a peaceful dining atmosphere. The staff members were efficient and brisk in their service, and my meal was served very quickly after ordering. One positive aspect of the meal was the generous portion of cabbage provided. Customers can also choose between rice or udon as their side, which offers a nice variety. However, the quality of the main meat dish did not meet expectations for the price point. The meat lacked juiciness and was significantly smaller than anticipated, resembling the size of a side dish rather than a main course. While the service efficiency and speed were commendable, the overall value for the price was low due to the small portion size and the specific quality of the meat served during this visit.

We ordered the “Hokkaido Pork Katsu Set” and the “Pork Fillet Katsu Gyoza (3 pcs) Set” from their Weekday Lunch Menu. This must have been my fifth visit here, and I keep coming back because I’ve always enjoyed both their katsu and the service (despite some of the mixed reviews I’ve seen here). Once again, the katsu did not disappoint. The pork was nicely breaded and fried to a crisp on the outside while remaining tender and juicy inside. The portion was satisfying, and the flavors were exactly what I had come to expect from previous visits. We also enjoyed the accompanying side dishes - rice, soup, and cabbage salad. The cabbage salad remains free-flow, just as before, which is great if you enjoy having extra vegetables to balance out the richness of the fried pork. However, I did notice that the rice and soup no longer seem to be free-flow. Previously, this was indicated on the menu, but I didn’t see it mentioned this time. I’m not sure if the policy has changed or if it’s simply no longer advertised, but it was something I picked up during this visit. Overall, it was still a very enjoyable meal, and the consistent quality of the katsu is the main reason I keep returning.

Visited on a public holiday. No queue at opening hour. Tonkatsu was decent, so does deep fried oysters. Cold shredded cabbage with sesame sauce was perfect to kick start our meal. We even asked for refill! Pork chop was fried to perfection. Tense and juicy to bite. Mustard was my next condiment to the pork chop.

Went there for lunch on a Friday afternoon and it’s not crowded. Was served with a dirty table (obvious cup stained from don’t know how many diners before me. Refer to image attached). No serviettes were issued together with the utensils. You have to ask for it. Ordered pork loin with pork filet set. The pork loin was pathetically small as compared to other jap restaurant pork loin. Other restaurants I had was palm size this serves finger size pork. Free flow of vege with sesame sauce. But again, you have to ask for refill due to serious understaff. Service was bad. There’s only ONE staff that assign walk in customers to the seat, issue menu, clear dishes when the customers are done with their meal, clean table, collect payment. You have to ask the staff to refill your drink, give serviettes or refill vege. There is another staff who serve dishes out to customers but realised she’s with ear pods on her ear and showing an unhappy face (maybe she had a bad day). Even when I asked for refill of vege, she just had eye contact with me and nod her head after I point the bowl of vege. No smile or no chats. Nothing. IMO, the price is not worth the food and service. I will not go back again.
