We first came here in 2021 at the old place, but the taste and portion is still the same now at the new location. The portion is really big, so you can even share it for 2. We ordered frenchie (poached eggs, bacon, croissant, tomatoes, cheese) and it could not be better to start a day this way. The price has gone up now, back then it was 55-65k i think, now its 80k but i wont complaint. The new location is bigger and has 2 floors, with spacious parking area for motorbikes but not available for car parking. It is located next to the road, just across a small rice field which looks really beautiful.

Ive included pictures of last year and this year for comparison. Last year two eggs and cherry tomatoes this year 99% tomatoes. You're basically paying more for less quality food. Last Year the same meal was 65k now its 80k. They complained about the previous place raising the rent, they move to a cheaper location and they raise their prices and lower their quality. The new place is not bigger, it just has an upstairs. It's longer but thinner. I think the square footage is the same or less. Moving to the new location was a bad move. Vibe sucks now. I was a repeat customer for years. I won't be back again.

portions are huge for price paid and unfinishable! please order as sharing dishes rather than one dish per pax especially for salads. All food were nice and pretty and enjoyed my melleville toast as that was like the only dish which is suitable for 1 pax portion haha. Smoothie bowl and salmon salad were HUGE. Alot more of selection of food is available if you scan their QR code on the menu board / the paper menu infront of the cashier. Interesting drink selections All outdoor seating and staffs are friendly and chill vibes. Would love to comeback during the next bali trip

Rude Service and Clear Discrimination!! I’ve watched the Crate community grow since the very beginning, but my experience at the new Pererenan spot was so disappointing I’m officially done. I came in craving their smoothies… and this is what I got. An older white lady at the cashier there wouldn't even say hello, she just waved her hand at me and passed me off to local staff without a word, like she assumed I couldn't speak english? it felt like total discrimination. The service is also super rigid!! they flat out refused to remove one fruit from a smoothie, and I ended up waiting forever while people who arrived after me got their food first. To top it off, the salmon salad was so dry with barely any dressing, and the "upstairs" seating they suggested was basically a closed bar that wasn't even fit for eating. Look at the pict!! It was that dark and they still told us to sit? LOL For these prices, you can find much better food and actually be treated with respect elsewhere. Definitely my last time supporting this brand.

This was my first time visiting your new location, and I wanted to share my experience. First of all, the service speed was impressive. Our order arrived much faster than it used to in the previous location, which made a great first impression. The new space also feels bigger and more comfortable, with more seating available. Today I tried the mix-up with granola and strawberries for the first time, and I really enjoyed it. It was fresh, well-balanced, and a great choice. I also want to highlight the basketball area with your café branding. I came with my son, who plays basketball, and he immediately noticed it. We asked a staff member for a basketball, thinking it would be a fun way to spend time while waiting for the food. However, this part of the experience could be improved. We were told “okay, miss,” but then there was a delay, another staff member came after a few minutes, then an administrator was mentioned, and by the time someone followed up, our food had already arrived. In total, it took more than 10 minutes. If the basketball area is part of the café concept, it would be great to have quick and easy access to a ball, ideally available right there without waiting. Another point is about the bread. My children really love this café, but personally I would appreciate having an option to choose or upgrade the bread served with dishes. The current bread is not my favorite, and having a possibility to switch to something more homemade-style would be a great addition. Also today I asked for a simple combination of fried egg, halloumi, and bread, but this was not available as an option. I completely respect the concept of the menu if it is intentional, but if flexibility is possible, it might be helpful to include simpler add-on options. Sometimes the portions are quite large, and I didn’t want to order a full breakfast along with a smoothie and a mix-up, which are already quite filling. Having a smaller, protein-based add-on would make the experience even better. Overall, I really like the new location and the atmosphere

Crate has officially landed in Pererenan, and the location is absolutely fantastic. The vibe is exactly what you’d expect - stylish, energetic, and perfectly situated. I visited the new spot with high hopes that this would come with an upgrade to their bakery program, specifically their sourdough. Unfortunately, the bread remains the weak point of the experience, just as it was previously. While the toppings and presentation are great, the sourdough itself consistently feels undercooked and doughy. It has that heavy, "raw dough" texture that sits quite uncomfortably in the stomach long after the meal is finished. It’s a shame because everything else about the venue is spot on. I truly hope the team considers switching to a higher-quality, well-fermented sourdough soon. Once the bread quality matches the excellence of the location, I’ll be the first in line to make this my new daily local.

Crate Café is one of those places that leans into the laid-back Pererenan vibe. Everything is alfresco, so it’s great when there’s a breeze, but not the spot if you’re chasing air-con and a proper cool-down. The setup is a nice mix. Big communal tables out front if you’re happy to share space and soak up the buzz, then smaller tables at the back if you want something a bit quieter. It strikes a good balance depending on your mood. Coffee is solid, and the fresh juices are a flavourful. Simple, well done, and exactly what you want to kickstart the day. Not trying to be something it’s not, just a relaxed, reliable café that knows its crowd and does it well.

It’s been 10 years I’ve been coming to Crate. And when I landed, I couldn’t find it in central Canggu anymore as they moved away from the crowd. What a smart move! They are now located in a place that looks exactly like when I discovered it 10 years ago, amongst the rice field. The Staff is unchanged: always so kind. Incredibly kind. And the food? The SAME. Tasty, generous and… Coeliac friendly ! I had the chance to discuss with the owner who is coeliac as well, so you can be sure that when it says GF, it truly is. And the coffee? Incredibly tasty 👌🏽 Thank you Marie, thank you to the staff for all of what you do here! I’ll be back!
