2026.5.24. I genuinely do not understand how this place earned a “Top 12 Café in Asia” title. The café was not even busy, yet I waited 24 minutes after ordering and still received nothing. I even went up once to politely check on my order, and the staff simply told me to “wait a bit longer.” After waiting again, I checked for a second time — only to be told that my order apparently didn’t exist at all. No apology, no accountability, no urgency. Just complete disorganization and poor service. For a café carrying such a prestigious reputation, this experience was honestly embarrassing. Good branding and social media hype may attract customers once, but service like this definitely won’t bring them back. If this is considered “Top 12 in Asia,” then either the standards are incredibly low, or the ranking means absolutely nothing.

Since 2016, I always visit Seniman whenever I’m in Ubud and I can see the coffee shop keeps growing from time to time. Now they collaborate with a bakery and a record store, making the experience of having a coffee there more worthwhile. I tried its cinnamon roll, Kintamani coffee, and the cold brew coffee tasting menu. Both the pastry and coffee were alright. My partner tried its flat white and cold brew tea tasting menu. The tea was fantastic! She was served lemongrass, rosella and cascara. Cascara was our favorite even though the other two were really great too. We ordered a lot but in the end, we paid around IDR 300 k, which made the price very reasonable. I really recommend this place if you like coffee and are in Ubud.

Probably not my lucky day, but my experience wasn't great. It was our first time visiting Seniman Coffee. When we arrived, the place was already quite crowded. After a while, we ordered a coffee and a detox juice, which actually arrived quite fast. However, please note that it isn't easy to place an order here as the waitstaff aren't really around; I had to go to the main seating area just to order. Things got worse when we ordered food. We waited for almost 45 minutes and I had to ask for an update (sandwich and french fries) The guests behind us experienced the same thing—their food took even longer than ours. I’d say if you're looking for a nice, artistic ambiance or a semi-co-working space, this place might suit you. However, if you're looking for a bite to eat, make sure you don't come hungry!

Located conveniently right in front of our homestay, Seniman Coffee was a great find during our stay in Ubud. One thing I immediately appreciated was that they opened pretty early, which made grabbing an early-morning caffeine fix super convenient before our scheduled tours for the day. They offer a variety of coffee selections and pastries, and I decided to try their Iced Bali Karana Tirta (medium roast) in a to-go bottle. Personally, I found the flavor leaning more toward the bitter-sour side, but it was still really good and refreshing. Unfortunately, I failed to take photos of my order because we got busy and ended up chugging the drinks almost immediately hahah. I also have to mention how fun and unique their packaging and labels were — it honestly made the whole experience feel more memorable and thoughtfully curated. The staff were veryyyy friendly and welcoming. They actually mistook me for a local, which became my first experience of many during my stay in Bali 😂 They were also kind enough to introduce their coffee flavors and briefly explain the process behind the drinks, which I really appreciated. Overall, no complaints at all — I genuinely thought the experience was wonderful. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area and looking for quality coffee with friendly service and a cozy local vibe.

I really enjoyed the coffee and the wide variety on the menu. There were plenty of options, and the quality was great. However, the service from one of the allrounder staff members felt a bit lacking. I understand that they were probably busy with their own tasks, but as a customer I felt slightly overlooked at times. There was also a small sense of being talked down to, which made the experience a little uncomfortable. That said, aside from that one staff member, everyone else was very friendly and welcoming. Overall the coffee and menu selection were excellent but regardless this problem i like this place

I know this is a coffee shop, but I always order their turmeric latte or kencur latte—haha, I love them! The ambiance is very chill and relaxing. It felt a little hot sitting outside since it was the hot season in Ubud, but luckily there was no traffic while I was there. I really enjoyed spending time there while the atmosphere was so peaceful and quiet.

Dropped in early morning (for 2 straight days) when they opened and ended up having a really good conversation with the barista before ordering. Tried two manual brews back to back to understand the range — Bali Kintamani (Karana) and Sulawesi Toraja — and the difference between the two was very clear. The Kintamani was bright and clean with a nice citrus lift, while the Toraja was heavier, more grounded and earthy, with deeper cocoa-like notes. Both were well brewed, no harshness, no over-roasting, just honest expression of the beans. I finished with a piccolo to see how they handle milk drinks, and it was balanced and well textured — not used to mask the coffee underneath, which I really appreciated. What I liked most is that they actually take the time to understand what you’re drinking and why it tastes the way it does. Good recommendations, solid knowledge of origin and processing, and no unnecessary hype. If you’re into manual brews and care about origin character, this place is absolutely worth your time.

Seniman Coffee Roasters does something refreshingly thoughtful with their coffee to go, no disposable cups, no flimsy lids. Instead, your coffee comes in a glass bottle, and that small detail makes a big statement! It feels intentional. Sustainable without being preachy. The glass keeps the coffee at a better temperature, preserves the aroma, and somehow makes even a takeaway latte feel curated, not rushed. It’s coffee you respect, even when you’re on the move.Of course, the coffee itself is well-roasted, balanced, and confidently crafted. The atmosphere is warm, creative and alive! You come for the coffee, of course, but there is more reasons to stay. You stay for the feeling❤️
