Maxwell Food Centre was easily one of our favorite hawker centres in Singapore. It’s quite easy to navigate, there are plenty of seats, and the food selection is amazing. I honestly had some of the best spicy shrimp dumplings and scallion oil noodles I’ve ever eaten here. Absolutely delicious. Another highlight was the craft beer. There’s a local brewery stand with really good beers, especially the Hazy IPA. The guy working there was super friendly as well, and the beer was honestly excellent. Definitely worth trying if you’re into craft beer. We also really liked the dessert options. There’s a stall serving different drinks and desserts with soy milk and grass jelly, and we tried a drink called “Michael Jackson.” It was so good and definitely something a little different to try. The prices are also very reasonable, and the portions are great. What I love most about Maxwell Food Centre is that it’s perfect when you’re with a group of people because everyone can get something from a different stall and then you can share and try lots of different dishes. Such a great place to experience a variety of Singaporean food without spending too much. We would absolutely come back!

First time I went Maxwell food court they were closed for 2 days doe spring cleaning. Made another trip since it's not too far from my hotel. Definitely worth going. I went outside the peak hours. Some stalls were not open yet, presumably some took time off either before the dinner rush or some days off since they were closed for spring cleaning. Lots of choices I had sliced fish mee sua, picture doesn't do justice to the taste of this bowl of fish noodles. I also had a nice refreshing sugar cane juice.

Maxwell Food Centre – A Must-Visit Hawker Centre Near Chinatown If you are staying around Chinatown, Maxwell Food Centre is one of the easiest and most worthwhile places to visit for local Singaporean food. Located at 1 Kadayanallur Street, it is a very short distance from Chinatown and is now also extremely convenient to reach because Maxwell MRT Station is nearby. The food centre has around 100 stalls, so there is a huge variety of food packed into a relatively compact space. What I particularly liked about Maxwell is its compact layout. Unlike some larger food centres where you have to walk around for a long time, here you can quickly browse through many stalls, look at the food, compare options and decide what you want to eat. The crowd is also quite pleasant, with locals, tourists, families and couples enjoying their meals. 🍗 Hainanese Chicken Rice The biggest attraction is undoubtedly Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice. It is extremely popular, and during busy periods you can expect a queue. A small portion is around S$5, with medium portions around S$6, although prices can change. If the queue at Tian Tian is too long, Ah Tai Hainanese Chicken Rice nearby is another option worth considering. 🦐 Seafood & Local Food Maxwell is not only about chicken rice. You can find seafood, noodles, porridge, fritters, Malay and Indonesian dishes, Nyonya food and other traditional Singaporean hawker favourites. Most regular dishes are generally quite affordable, with many options in the S$4–S$10 range, while some premium seafood dishes cost more. 🌶️ Spicy & Chilli Dishes If you enjoy something spicy, don't just walk past the stalls offering chilli-based chicken, noodles and other spicy local dishes. There are plenty of options to experiment with, especially if you are visiting with someone and want to order several small dishes to share. 🥥 Drinks & Desserts Don't forget the juice and drink stalls. Fresh coconut, sugarcane juice, fruit juices, soya desserts and traditional sweets are great companions to a spicy or heavy meal. Overall, Maxwell Food Centre is a place I would strongly recommend to anyone staying around Chinatown. It is convenient, affordable, compact, full of choices and gives you the opportunity to experience Singapore's hawker culture in one place. Come hungry, walk around once before ordering, and try a few different dishes rather than limiting yourself to just one!

Hardly came here in recent years as they're possibly the most popular local food centre among tourists. No doubt there are lots of good food here but they are also probably one of the dirtier food centre, the understaffed cleaners are struggling to cope with the demands. Greasy tables here are pretty norm since putting back your trays does not make the greasiness of the tables dissolved by itself. Ultimately getting more cleaners are the practical but unpopular solution.

Maxwell Food Centre is a hawker paradise that proves world-class meals don't require high-end prices. The Hainanese chicken rice is tender, incredibly flavorful, and pairs deliciously with their refreshing, fresh-pressed S$4 fruit juices. It’s easily one of the best spots in town to enjoy authentic, high-quality local dishes on a budget.

Maxwell Food Centre is one of the most interesting hawker centres to visit in Singapore, with a huge variety of local food under one roof. It’s also very popular with tourists - I noticed many visitors from Australia, Japan and other countries when I was there There are plenty of stalls to explore, although some of the famous ones can have very long queues, especially Tian Tian Hainanese Chicken Rice. Fortunately, there are many other good choices if you don’t feel like waiting

Be careful! ! ! Maxwell Coconut & Sugarcane Juice#01-34 They scammed us by charging us 3.00 instead of 2.50 for the sugarcane juice we did not know that we were charged extra until we checked our transactions. Customers paying by credit card at this store should be extra careful and make sure to ask for the bill. An extra charge applies only to drinks ordered with less ice or no ice.

Love the food and variety but I give 2 stars for the atmosphere because a lot of the tables were not cleaned and wiped down. And it is warm and humid. NEA can do a lot better for this food centre. It is a tourist attraction and I'm ashamed to say that the cleanliness we are reputed for is definitely not represented here. 😓😞😣
