Lazy Lizard

I’m having dinner at Lazy Lizard right now, and it’s such a great find in the West Coast area. It has a very laid-back, welcoming vibe. Definitely a "hidden gem" for a chill neighborhood meal. The Food Duck Confit: This was the highlight for me. The duck is just as good as it looks in the photos, with the skin done perfectly. I absolutely love the sauce (Spicy Cumin Mango Chutney) it comes with; it’s a really interesting blend of sweet, fruity, and just a hint of spiciness. Classic Ribeye: A very reliable choice if you’re looking for a hearty steak. It was cooked well and satisfied that craving for a classic Western main. Pan Seared Halibut: This was a great lighter option. The fish was seared nicely, keeping it moist and flavourful. Menu Variety: They have a solid range of Western comfort food. Aside from these mains, they’ve got plenty of pasta, burgers, and pizzas, plus a good selection of craft beers. Service & Vibe The staff here are very friendly and attentive, which makes the whole experience feel personal and relaxed. They were quick to help without being overbearing. It’s a very family-friendly spot, perfect for a casual dinner without any fuss.

I visited this restaurant specifically to try the Cheesy Messy Beef Burger. The burger was satisfying and well-prepared, accompanied by a generous, heaped portion of fries on the side. In terms of accessibility, the establishment was not very crowded during my visit, which made it easy to enter and find a table without any delay. The staff members were polite and kind during our interactions. However, they spent most of their time in the kitchen or back area rather than on the dining floor. This made it somewhat difficult to catch their attention for additional orders or further assistance after the food was delivered. While the meal itself was high quality and the portions were large, the lack of floor presence from the service team is something to keep in mind if you prefer more attentive service. Overall, it is a solid choice for a quiet meal if you are looking for a filling burger.

Had lunch at Lazy Lizard @ NEWest and enjoyed the Lazy Beef Burger — hearty, satisfying, and a solid pick for a casual meal. The place is spacious and comfortable for groups, with nice, friendly staff that make the experience even better. Lazy Lizard at NEWest reflects the brand’s evolution from a simple heartland bar into a modern, lifestyle-driven neighborhood hangout. It blends casual pub energy with contemporary bistro dining, serving Western comfort favourites like burgers, ribs, pastas, and sharing plates. The atmosphere is relaxed and inclusive — built for unwinding over an easy meal with friends or family. A reliable, unpretentious choice for casual dining in the West. Rating: 4/5.

Great spot for great proteins! (& more) This outlet does it's protein really really well. The Spatchcock chicken with peppercorn sauce, rack of pork, St Louis BBq ribs, 50C poached salmon and messy cheesy burger are all delish! The chicken is fragrant, tender yet firm and has a just-nice balance of sweet honey-ish buttery herb flavour! Simply delish! Rack of pork is also awesomely delish! Tender and full of porki-umami-goodness without any hint of gaminess to it. Lightly salted with butter... It goes so so well with the buttery smooth truffle mash and balsamic mushroom! The meal was memorable, in a good way! Wash that down with an Aussie Tooheys lager... It makes for a chill Sat ender. Service was relatively fast for a crowded Sat evening. Attentive too. Nice atmosphere to chill and chat. It was crowded but the noise proofing design is adequate and enables a decent conversation without the need to strain your vocals. Will definitely return to try the rest on the menu!

We had a wonderful first experience at Lazy Lizard! Chini and Mui Ling were very attentive to our requests and made us feel well taken care of. The food was delicious - the kids especially enjoyed the pasta, while the Halibut stood out with its flavourful crust that gave every bite a burst of taste. The little play area for kids was a nice touch and kept ours occupied after they were done eating, which made the dining experience more relaxed for us. That said, it’s worth noting that when parents aren’t attentive, small quarrels can happen between kids. It really should be a shared play experience, so a little more mindfulness would make it even better for everyone. Overall, great food, warm service, and a family-friendly environment!

Dropped by Lazy Lizard @ Newest and had a really enjoyable meal. Ordered the fish and chips — nicely done, crispy, and the portion was generous. Paired it with a pint of Toothys lager (Aussie beer) which was smooth, crisp, and easy to drink. Nice little bonus was the promo where ordering a main came with a free kids’ meal, which was a pleasant surprise. The ambience is chill and relaxed, perfect for winding down without feeling rushed. Definitely a place I’d come back to for a casual meal and a cold beer.

We were greeted by warm smiles and humorous rapport with the servers, they calmly explained our seating arrangements and took our orders! The service was detailed, and the food was well made! The beef sirloin was served perfectly tender on the inside, and the fish and chips were crisp. These qualities spelt a wonderful time of gastronomy and camaraderie for the family. Plus, the carbonara quickly became a favorite amongst our two young nephews. Will definitely recommend this place again!

I had a good experience, especially for kids over the weekend. They offer a free kids' meal and have a nice kids' corner for fun activities. I loved the food, and to my surprise, it tasted great. However, I was a little disappointed with the service; we waited for 50 minutes for the pork ribs, they sent to the wrong table and finally when ours arrived the pork rib weren't fully cooked. Thus the u gave us a waiver. Thanks! The waitress was prompt and attentive, which was a positive aspect of the experience.
