Villeage Residence Hougang is good to stay. It has Huge swimming pool, and Sauna, although this building is old, it is still being good condition. Also the staffs are very kind. They fixed a toilet even though I had not complained, also changed whole air-con when one air-con didn't work well. Facilities are old but work very well due to nice maintenance. You can use buses very easily, and there is 'Fair price extra' just under this building (second floor). You can go big market without an umbrella.

Nice food in this Kopitiam. Here they have Encik Tan and Qiji at this mall.

A good to visit Neighbourhood mall. Many restaurants and food options to choose from. Its pretty big inside to shop around. Big supermarket NTUC above for your groceries shopping. Popular with the local to visit for their meals.

Residential mall with a fairprice xtra and quite a few f&b chains. Nice place to shop for groceries if you live in the area.

Used to have a Prima Deli waffle counter but the whole store got replaced by Stuff'd. Used to have Cheers but got replaced by yet another restaurant, and stationery shop got replaced by Mevaldos. Starbucks got replaced by Luckin Coffee. Liho turned into some beauty place, and the sushi place turned into another restaurant 😭. Many renovations and replacements that is better left undone. This mall used to have many exciting or convenient shops but it's disappointing to see how many changes it's undergone in the span of a single year.

Today I went to He Jie Econ Rice to packet 1 veg & 1 meat (pig-ears) & was charged $5.10/-. When I asked the staff y $5.10/- instead of $3.50/-? She explained the $3.50/- menu are only for certain vegetables & pig-ears are not part of the menu. Very dubious explanations. At least have a separate pictures to show what are the dishes under $3.50/-. The previous Econ Rice stall operators are much more honest. The current one took over after Hougang One Kopitiam underwent makeover. Dishonest Econ stall. Beware

Sole purpose there is to buy groceries in Fair Price Extra and settle a simple meal at the same time. Limited affordable food options and shops. Kopitiam is one of the expensive outlets. The new vege rice stall is not the regular economical rice stall. simple dishes priced high. Catering to a neighbourhood hdb estate ? Something is wrong. Malls managed by Far East I guess are high on rentals and the costs are passed on to patrons and customers.

I’ve been visiting Hougang 1 Shopping Mall regularly on weekday afternoons, and it never disappoints. Located in the heart of Hougang, this mall offers an excellent variety of shops and eateries—perfect for errands, a quick bite, or just a relaxing afternoon out. The mall is nothing too fancy, and it doesn’t get you lost. It is a pretty small mall, but definitely sufficient in terms of food, restaurants etc.
