Genki Sushi (Waterway Point)

Visited today to takeaway yusheng. Tried to use trust card for 50% off salmon noodles and was disappointed with the team as they seemed untrained. First 2 cashiers didn’t know how to key in the transaction and had to approach the manager. Manager told me that I am not eligible for the discount as I’m do not have the “coupon” in my trust app. I showed her the reward in my app and she insisted that I must press redeem to key in their code. My app did not prompt any of such and she then told me that even if I have redeemed this “coupon” it is for the next purchase. At this point I have no idea what she is trying to say and I just show her the app says pay with trust card to redeem. She still insist I have to press redeem in order to have the “coupon”. She finally understood after me showing her how I got to this page. Went back to collect my yusheng and showed the staff my receipt. Staff just pointed to the table where my food is and expects me to pick it up myself when she’s just standing next to it. Takeaway without paying service charge means no basic service? Overall it was a frustrating and disappointing experience just for a $8+ discount and $60+ yusheng.

This staff did heavy dettol & detergent cleaning disregarding us customers who were still dining and eating. The same yellow cloth went all around tables, chairs, seats, shelves - all with the same cloth, no rinsing or washing and no changing of that pail of water as well. Was really a huge shock. That whole stretch of outer facing counter top dining had zero ventilation. The food was not very fresh in taste and one of the akaebi prawn tempura sushi had a fishy stench. Zero ginger slices too.

The hand rolls have become so small that an adult could finish one in a single bite. The Spider Mentai Maki has also noticeably decreased in size and the presentation was poor, and overall, I was quite disappointed with this visit.

Bill No. 93385 — February 22 I placed my order at 5:40 PM for three udon bowls. Two were served shortly after, but the third was never delivered. I informed the waiter twice, yet no action was taken. By 6:35 PM, the dish was still outstanding. As a result, I lost my appetite and requested the manager to cancel the remaining udon. The service was extremely disappointing, and this experience fell far below expectations.

Absolutely fantastic Japanese restaurant! Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with authentic flavor. The sushi was incredibly fresh, the ramen rich and comforting, and the attention to detail really stood out. Service was warm, attentive, and made the whole experience feel special. You can tell there’s real passion behind the food here. Easily one of the best Japanese dining experiences I’ve had—can’t wait to come back!

First time at Genki sushi Waterway Point. Definitely , won’t be the last! Food is superb! Fresh fish/meat, so yummy! Service is great, too as the servers are friendly and approachable. We enjoy whole atmosphere with sushi train ☺️

Waiting time dinner timing at least 1 hr lol. Advise if u hungry them don go. Go when u have friend to chat with for an hour just to eat it lo. If u have time can la. No choice the space limited too. Give n take lo 😃

Good service and staff is friendly and attentive. Value for money but rice is a bit loose.
