I had a great experience at the canteen by Enjoy Restaurant. The food was always fresh, tasty, and offered a good variety, so there was something to enjoy every time. The portions were satisfying, and everything was well prepared. What impressed me the most was the staff. They were always friendly, welcoming, and polite, even during busy hours. They worked efficiently, served everyone with a smile, and made the dining experience pleasant. Their excellent service and positive attitude really stood out. Thank you to the whole team for your hard work and dedication. I would definitely recommend this canteen to others.

We didn’t enter with the best of impressions due to the service. Staff weren’t exactly helpful, especially given the prices on the menu. The service rendered were what I would get at a normal zichar place so perhaps that was on brand. However, the food did slap. The simple cabbage dish was crunchy and had wok hey, and the prawn paste wings were just the right amount of seasoning. The tahu telor was interesting but I still prefer the original than the small pieces of taopok. Hokkien mee was moist and fragrant. If you can, skip their drinks as they were too highly priced. There was an incident of a small cockroach on the table behind us and that led to quite a bit of commotion at first. TLDR: atas zichar, can try.

The worst Hokkien mee! Why, super salty!!! Ingredient not like those in Tik Tok. Official closing was 10:00pm. When we arrived at around 9:15pm, we were told they are closing at 9:30pm and unwilling to let us in. They asked us if we could finish our food by 9:30pm. After some discussion, we, were able to enter. However, they seemed not interested to take our order. Anyway, the portion was small and definitely not worth the price.

The food is good. Highly recommend the Nai Bai trio egg, wok hei cabbage. The hokkien noodles is good too with lots of roast pork, squid n large prawns (peeled). The white crab (deshelled) with crispy man tou is nice. Better if more mantou is given. The Panna cotta was a bit too firm and it would be better if red beans are included to make the chendol complete.

:) we had these: 1. White pepper Crab: the spice and aroma of the white pepper is gorgeously brought out in this dish. Chunky crab pieces. Silky egg white. Overall, a super yummy option. 2. Hokkien mee: smokey tiger prawns! The prawn broth to wok-up this dish is rich and flavourful. Not salty. Super shiok. Has fresh chunky lard too, for those who enjoy the crunch. 3. Tahu Telur: shd have eaten this while it was still hot but we were too focused devouring the above 2 dishes, this was left to sit.. The sauce was a tad too sweet for me at this stage. If you love the egg-bomb style (炸蛋).. u will love it. The portion may look small but it is filling. We couldnt finish the Tahu Telur but every bite, was satisfying. Decor-wise: very local old-time kopitiam setting. Nice for photos and all. Service was quick too. Too bad dont have ur usual kopitiam drinks. Lol.

Quaint, retro inspired decor, well ventilated and pretty cold air-conditioning and limited tables aside, the service was acceptable, but hearing multiple friends rave about the food here somewhat sent my expectations into the stratosphere. Ultimately, premium price = loaded ingredients, which sadly doesn't mean fantastic food all round. There were some hits and misses though but let's get the biggest let down out of the way. I had a friend d swear this was The Best HKM he has ever eaten. After trying this tiny plate of $15.80 HKM from Enjoy, I think my friend has never tried a decent plate of HKM. Any Simon Road, Ah Jie or Shiok branch would have beaten this watered down rendition flat. True it was chockful of ingredients. The 2 fresh prawns were huge, there was an overload of crispy pork belly and lard, the squid was generously sprinkled in, but it lacked one key thing. Taste. It didnt taste like HKM at all, the broth was lacking in that seafood unami that makes any HKM slurp worthy. If I could describe it, ita chow mein with prawns in a smokey sauce. Sorry this just falls WAYYYYY short. Anyway lets start off with drinks, I had the Luohan Guo that was surprisingly barely sweet which really brings out the taste of the fruit. Next the Ngor Hiong had the right filling but the wrapper was strangely limp and soft, no crisp at all, more like it was steamed even though visually it was deep fried. The wok hei cabbage delivered on its namesake, but lacked any other taste, it was actually kinda sweet to the point after eating a few mouthfuls I was getting put off by it, also the pieces were huge and still pretty hard. Perhaps the dish that had me raving was the Chilli Crab Sauce Prawns. The sauce went super well with the deep fried mantous, the prawns were the exact same ones as the HKM, so yes they huge, fresh and perfect for dunking into the sauce. The sauce was really good, sweet, tangy, eggs with a bit of heat, I can't remember when was the last time I had chilli crab sauce remotely this good. Lastly we ordered the BBQ Stingray which was disappointing too, the sambal lacked any zing, the stingray was probably massive which meant that the meat was thick, a little mushy and the bbq and sambal failed to penetrate into the meat fully, which give this dish a decidedly bland taste. Now of course I'm comparing the dishes here to my hawker favourites, but to me if im paying nearly 3 times the price should I be expecting it to be at the very least comparable? Unfortunately i cannot score anything higher than a 3, the chilli crab sauce alone was worth the trip but sadly everything else wasn't.

Visited The Canteen by Enjoy in Singapore and arrived early before their 11:30am opening as I was quite excited to try the food. I ordered the Big Hokkien Prawn Mee as the main highlight, but unfortunately it was a little disappointing. The noodles tasted noticeably salty and lacked the wok hei aroma that I was expecting from a dish like this. The flavour didn’t quite have that rich, smoky depth that usually makes Hokkien prawn mee stand out. I also tried the Wok Hey Cabbage, which was decent but quite average overall. It wasn’t bad, just not particularly memorable. For drinks, I ordered the 1-litre Cold Brew Osmanthus Oolong Tea and a Thai Milk Tea. The osmanthus oolong tea was refreshing and nice to share, while the Thai milk tea was enjoyable and flavourful 👍 For dessert, I ended the meal with their Chendol Panna Cotta Coco, which was an interesting fusion-style dessert. The texture was smooth and creamy, and it was probably the most enjoyable item from the meal 😊 Overall, I appreciate the concept and variety offered, but based on this visit, the food didn’t quite meet expectations yet. Hopefully the flavours and consistency improve over time.

Interesting retro 70s decor at this restaurant. The cuisine served is elevated popular local street food. Ordered local favorites like fried Hokkien prawn noodles (good wok hei), black truffle wonton noodle, chili prawns (cooked in chili crab style sauce), braised pig trotters and deep fried mushrooms (like French fries). All the dishes were tasty and well-prepared. Worth a visit
