A lovely spot for couples right in the Hồ Nghinh area with reasonably priced food that doesn’t feel too expensive but still offers a cozy and comfortable atmosphere for a date night. The restaurant has a warm and charming decoration style, and the lighting at night makes the space feel even more romantic. The food is good and easy to enjoy, with a varied menu that works well whether you’re visiting with friends or on a date. Prices are fair considering the location near the beach and tourist area. The staff are friendly, and the dishes come out fairly quickly. If you’re looking for a chill place with a cute dating vibe around Hồ Nghinh, this is definitely worth trying ✨

I treated myself to a solo dinner at Gear Cafe & Bistro — and it turned out to be such a memorable experience. The space is beautifully designed, with customizable decor concepts that you can choose in advance. Every corner feels thoughtfully curated, each telling its own story. It’s an ideal spot for first dates, anniversaries, or even intimate birthday celebrations. But even when dining alone like I did, the atmosphere still feels incredibly comforting — a perfect way to enjoy your own company. The food is delicious, leaning towards a light and refined flavor profile that feels both satisfying and memorable. Each dish is presented with great attention to detail. What impressed me the most was the warm and attentive service. The staff were always there when needed, yet never intrusive. A special thank you to An and Nhi for making my evening even more pleasant and enjoyable. I’ll definitely be coming back — whether for a romantic date or simply another peaceful evening for myself.

This was one of the strangest dining experiences we’ve ever had. First, there was no soap in the restroom. When we asked for it, the staff gave us a very odd look and handed us a roll of wet toilet paper instead. That already set a strange tone. We originally wanted to try the pork skewers, but they were no longer available, so we ordered duck pasta and duck ragout. Both dishes turned out to be almost identical. The same sauce made mostly of carrots and bits of duck skin. There was no actual duck meat in either dish, just a single small piece of skin. I had it with pasta, and my husband had it with rice. It was honestly bizarre. We’ve been to Vietnam multiple times and have never seen anything like this. The menu on Google Maps does not match the real menu at all, which is very misleading. The food was basically inedible. Our child ended up eating plain pasta, and we decided to leave. We paid the full bill, but then were randomly refunded 59,000 VND. Overall, a very strange place that we would not recommend.

The café itself is very beautiful and pleasant, and I really like the place. A few days ago, there was a young woman working here and her service was excellent, very professional and kind. However, today, 07/02/2026, my experience was unfortunately very disappointing. I ordered an espresso and waited for a long time before it was finally served. When it arrived, the quality was not as good as before. After that, I tried to order a bottle of water. I was very thirsty and really needed it. I looked for the waitress but she was not around, so I went to the reception desk and asked the man there for water. I waited for a long time, but nothing happened. I went back again and asked him once more, but he did not pay attention to me at all. In the end, I was forced to leave the café and buy water from a store outside. What made me feel uncomfortable is that other customers were being served quickly, which made me feel some kind of discrimination. I truly like the place itself, but today the service was very poor. For this reason, I can only give 2 stars, despite liking the café.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Gear Cafe & Bistro – A Cozy Morning Gem in Da Nang After searching for somewhere open early on my first morning in Da Nang, I was happy to stumble upon Gear Cafe & Bistro—a small gem that felt like the perfect refuge just as the rain started outside. The menu isn’t built on huge portions, but the food was fresh, flavorful, and served surprisingly fast, which is exactly what you want when you’re starting your day. The service was excellent—warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly. I also loved the atmosphere: calm, inviting, and paired with good music that made the space feel relaxed without being dull. It’s the kind of spot that makes you slow down and enjoy the moment. If you’re in Da Nang and looking for a cozy breakfast café or a relaxed bistro with great service, Gear Cafe & Bistro is absolutely worth a visit. I’ll definitely be coming again.

Came here due to number of choices labelled vegan on their menu. Vegan burger came and had real cheese and mayonnaise on it, making it a vegetarian burger, and not vegan due to presence of dairy and egg products. My partner taste-tasted the burger and confirmed it wasn’t meat, however widely misleading to label something as vegan that actually contains animal products. Some difficulties ordering due to language barriers, having to place order twice, leading it feeling tricky to try and explain this to staff and leaving the majority of the meal untouched. Fries were also cold and tasteless. We also waited an extensive amount of time to order and had to signal for same, we then waited around 30 minutes for the food and were the only customers in there, due the staff appearing to prepare for other bookings. My partner ordered stir-fried pork and was such a small portion it was finished with a few mouthfuls. Food not worth the wait. Poor service. Avoid if you have dietary requirements.

I wouldn’t recommend coming here if you want to have lunch or dinner — it’s simply not worth the money. Yes, the coffee is good. But that’s about it. We ordered a shrimp salad — it was just an ordinary salad anyone could make at home. I ordered salmon with a creamy sesame sauce, but they brought something completely different — as you can see in the photo, the sauce was red. I tried to explain to the waitress that this wasn’t what I ordered. How can you not understand that this is not a creamy sauce?! She took the dish away, told me to “enjoy the salad,” and left. Then she came back with a passionfruit sauce — basically hot passionfruit purée! Overall, it was a terrible experience considering the price. When you pay 300,000 for salmon, you expect something decent. Yes, the food looks nice in the photos, but it’s only the looks — the taste and service don’t match.

Disgusting. Not worth it The bread took a long time to make while there were only 2 tables (during the time when customers arrived - the other table was almost done, about to leave). Like you had to order before you went to buy. Cold, soggy, bad taste. The coffee didn't come with tea or water. While the coffee was brought out before the bread Tissues had to be ordered Toothpicks had to be ordered, when they were brought out, they were given 2 toothpicks with empty hands. When they were taken out, they were moldy
