Chong Pang Nasi Lemak

My recent visit, three years after my last review, was for a quick meal. I observed the beverage vendor instructing another customer to remove her water bottle from the table, citing a policy against outside beverages. This rule appears overly rigid and creates an unwelcoming atmosphere, particularly as the patron was not misusing the facility. The vendor suggested she place the bottle on her lap. This establishment truly needs to improve its customer service. I advise against dining here if you seek a peaceful meal, as they seem to compel customers to purchase their drinks. I was genuinely disappointed by the vendor's conduct. Regarding the food, the nasi lemak is merely average, offering a Chinese-style rendition with more variety. The chicken wings, unfortunately, were rather bland.

Just had the most ridiculous experience at the drinks stall in Chong Pang Nasi Lemak 😡. I wasn’t even drinking my own water, just placed my water bottle on the table while eating, and the staff told me I cannot do that. When I asked why, they couldn’t give any explanation at all. To make it worse, they took a marker and wrote the rule on the notice in front of me. I get that stalls can have rules about outside drinks, but this was completely unnecessary and super rude. Customers deserve basic courtesy, not this nonsense. Honestly, hope the management actually takes action — this is not how people should be treated.

Nasi Lemak (SGD $9.50) @ Chong Pang Nasi Lemak. . Established in 1973, this stall is well-regarded for its consistent heritage taste and value-for-money prices coupled with generous portions. . The fragrant coconut rice is loose and fluffy in texture, carrying aromatic grainy earthy floral sweet coconutty flavour. The crunchy juicy achar / Peranakan pickled salad carries bright vegetal sour sweet spice flavour, while the crisp crunchy deep-fried ikan bilis / anchovies carry fishy savoury salty flavour. A beautiful wobbly soft sunny side up chicken egg with runny yolk bursts with eggy sweet savoury flavour. . The large and soft otak-otak / otah / spiced mackerel fish paste has fishy savoury spice flavour, while the springy bouncy sotong / squid balls have savoury sweet flavour. The battered chicken drumstick is a highlight, tender and juicy with robust meaty salty savoury flavour. Their smooth sambal tumis / stir-fried chili paste has a sharp fiery kick at the onset, followed by mild sweet savoury sour spice flavour.

Went to this place to eat and purchased 2 teh bing & 2 ice milo which cost $12... most expensive drink i ever purchased, even kopitiam or food junction charges maximum not more than $3 for one teh bing or ice milo. Upon consuming the milo, I got a bad stomache not long after... The guy serving and preping the drink also damn angst and simply unprofessional. He looks exactly like he wanna fight with me when i told him my order lol.. plus drinks taste were not only EXP but horrible. Dk why this stall still can survive until now. Nevertheless, the nasi lemak was still the highlight, affordable and taste good especially the sambal chilli. End of the day, if u wanna charge customer expensive, please be logical and at least show sth worth buying for lmao..

This nasi lemak was solid, but not memorable. It ticked the boxes of flavor and presentation, yet the high price overshadowed the experience. However, Ice Lemon Tea Disaster just made the whole dinner miserable. I thought the rotten lemon slice and detergent taste were the low point. I was wrong. The Drink: Sour, spoiled, and soapy — a concoction that tasted more like cleaning fluid than tea. The Lemon Slice: Rotten, mushy, and discolored, floating like a warning sign I should have obeyed. The Service: When I politely asked for an exchange, the staff didn’t just refuse — they dismissed me outright, insisting “there was no complaint at all.” The rudeness turned a bad drink into a truly miserable experience. Experience: A failed beverage paired with dismissive service. Instead of fixing the problem, they denied it existed. While I stared at the cockroaches scuttled across the floor, darting between tables like it owned the place. Watching it run around while staring at that nightmare of a drink was the final straw. Final Verdict This wasn’t just the worst ice lemon tea I’ve ever had — it was the worst customer experience. A detergent-flavored drink garnished with a rotten lemon slice. But the one star saving grace was the Nasi Lemak was pretty decent.

Arrived close to 9pm, no queue. Guy behind the counter very prompt. Chicken drumstick crackling but thin skin, warm, juicy and meaty though just a tiny tad salty. Heibihiam was the limelight. Ikan bilis crispy, I like them without peanuts so was a good option. Long beans was normal, egg wasn't runny alr though but not a killer for me. Sambal is the sweeter kind, nice aroma of lemongrass and candlenut, really appreciate the flavor. Love the "wretchedness" of the place. I travelled 1hr from Tampines to here to try and defo didn't regret! Plus it was only $7.20!

Good plate of nasi lemak served on plastic plate & spoon off sembawang roadside shophouse. $5.70 for the lot. Aromatic coconut rice. Chilli is very sweet but savoury. The nostalgic banana leaf wrapped egg nasi chilli feel. Taste pretty good overall thou and wide selection. Great for supper as this place can be hard to park during dinner timing.

Been awhile since I've had this. Went for a cycle and decide to come here, so ordered a bigger portion. The Nasi is so-so, but the Fried Chicken Wing and Fried Fish is still just as good as I remembered them. The other veggies are good too. Best of all, value for money! My plate was just $6.50!
