928 Yishun Laksa

Nolstagic bowl of laska. Add your own amount of chilli to create the depth you need for your laksa. However the soup base is too mild so need to add lots of chilli these days to acheive your flavour and balance the underwhelming taste which could be from the coconut milk source used. Sihum is fresh and additional cost only $1.00. Really rare old school neighbourhood voiddeck shop truely Singapore but extremely clean. Fully self-service. One guy queue with me said he eating here since $2.30 to now $4.00 a bowl. No hum will entitle you one additional piece of egg. But the portion I think is just right and inflation cost is real. Everyone is polite, cute old uncle and owners are doing their best to make the queue faster which is good.

One of the greatest laksas for a reason. Broth was rich full of seafood flavour and umami. Flavours of coconut were present as well. Spice level was perfect for me, even with the extra chilli mixed in. I especially liked how generous they were with the bits of clam. Portion size for the standard portion was perfect too. Ultimately it is a slightly different style/flavour from Katong laksa, but both have their place in this world. Seating is very limited though, and queue was kinda long but to be expected. Waited around 15 - 20 minutes to order. Yum yum

I personally feel this Laska is overrated, the base is mild, (i see some add lot of chili pastes) i added portion of cockles which is tiny pcs. Can try if you are around, but not recommend travel here just for this.

A Singaporean friend recommended this place. It's a really delicious Laksa place, with a home-cooking style taste, like mom or auntie's cooking. It felt so safe and comforting, like mom making you breakfast before you go to school or work. As for the location, there's a moderate amount of seating. The vendors inside were noisy and boisterous, luckily I couldn't understand what they were saying. They only accept cash. How to get there 🚆 MRT Yishun

Laksa taste good.. 👍 Now they only serve one size $4 per bowl of laksa.. Previously still have small and large portions to order.. But still can add on noodle, laksa soup and other ingredients.. Nothing fancy.. just those traditional taste aside from the usual ingredients they add in some crab stick.. Not salty even I added quite some chilli paste in it.. One not so good point are the tables.. can see quite some left over stains and ingredients on the table not clean promptly.. Can be better if they have the table clean instantly after one diner finished and left the table.. Same as usual in the small store below the HDB flat.. Very near to North Point and Yishun Bus Interchange and MRT..

Finally had the opportunity to try this Laksa stall. Yes, it's good. The broth is thick and flavourful. Definitely will come back and eat again. Price is $4/bowl. The seating is very limited, so you have to wait if fully occupied.

This is the local laksa I used to eat when I was young. I ate it with my mom and a friend today, and it was still really delicious.
