I recently tried the “Sungei Road Laksa” stall at Yuhua Hawker Centre in Jurong, but unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown. It’s unclear whether this stall is officially connected to the Sungei Road Laksa at Jalan Besar—and based on the taste, it likely isn’t. The laksa soup base was quite bland and lacked the depth, spice, and aroma you’d expect. The broth felt watered down and lacked the signature punch that usually defines a good laksa.

I believe some have confused this with another similarly-named stall in town. This one is in Jurong. Never heard of the stall. Decided to give it a try. Came away pleasantly surprised. Portions are decent. Cockles were really fresh-tasting. Laksa broth has a nice fragrance and well-balanced flavour. Everything came together nicely. I would say it may even be better than the 2 shops in Queensway S.C.

Famous stall. Delicious and inexpensive. Lots of ingredients. Many similar stalls offer half-boiled eggs. This stall offers whole eggs. Famous stall. Delicious and inexpensive. Lots of ingredients. Many similar stalls offer half-boiled eggs. This stall offers whole eggs.

Queue is not too long. The aromatic blend of spices and creamy coconut milk created a rich and flavorful broth that perfectly complemented the tender noodles and assortment of fresh ingredients. Each spoonful was a burst of harmonious flavors, with the right balance of heat from the chili and the coconut. Will come again.

Laksa and Mie Siam so tasty and the food still hot. Manage to finish until last dip of soup. Very friendly owner when serving the food. Hopely can try another food in the menu...

Tried their laksa and mee siam this morning. No queue. Ask for more bean sprout and they did provide a lot. Laksa coconut milk is too much to my liking, But the cockles is nice as it is not fully cook. Mee siam taste normal.

decent laksa but the chilli falls flat (not that much belacan taste), and the gravy isn't as laksa leaf forward as I'd like. overall worth it for $4 though. a lot lighter than most laksas, but maybe that's a good thing.

The broth has quite a bit of coconut milk, hence, it’s slightly sweet instead of savory. Cockles are plump and fresh! Will try out the mee rebus and mee siam next time!
