Putien Kitchener Road

This is not my first time here and I must point out that there are very few Singaporean restaurants where you cannot go wrong with the food. Putien is definitely one of those places. Fresh ingredients, great service and lovely ambience. A perfect combo for a perfect meal. My girlfriend and I had the Fried Heng Hwa Bee Hoon (small); Seasonal Vegetables in Superior Stock (regular); PUTIEN Sweet & Sour Pork with Lychees (regular) and the Iced Bitter Gourd. I had a Tsingtao Beer. I must call out Ms. Sine for her wonderful and thoughtful service. Thank you for the great meal.

Had a wonderful dining experience at Putien (Kitchener Road), and a big part of it was thanks to Jing Jing (and Yun). She is truly an impeccable person whose warmth and attentiveness completely changed the atmosphere of the restaurant. Her service was easily one of the best I’ve received in Singapore’s dining scene — sincere, thoughtful, and effortlessly professional. She genuinely made my day. The food was great as always, but great food paired with exceptional service takes the experience to another level. Thank you, Jing Jing and the entire team, for making our visit so memorable.

Having traveled all over the world, we can confidently say this ranks among the very best restaurants we have ever visited, both for the superb culinary quality and the warm, welcoming atmosphere. As a multi-year Michelin One-Star establishment, the standard here is unmistakable. What makes it truly extraordinary is that you get a full Michelin-star experience while paying prices comparable to an everyday, regular restaurant—far below typical mid-to-high-end dining in Singapore. It offers unbeatable value, with an environment that suits a small group gathering of adults just as seamlessly as a comfortable family meal with kids. The service was nothing short of world-class: • Ah Lian, our waitress, was exceptional. She guided our food choices with immense care, explaining the ingredients and traditional preparation methods behind every dish, making each course truly special. • Manager Jing Jing welcomed us with heartfelt warmth and shared a wonderful introduction to the restaurant’s history and origins. Outstanding food, unmatched value, and genuine hospitality. PUTIEN Kitchener Road is an absolute must-visit in Singapore!

PUTIEN has been our family’s go-to restaurant for a long time, and it never disappoints. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and comforting—perfect for both casual meals and special gatherings. What I appreciate most is the quality and authenticity of the dishes. Every visit feels reliable, with well-balanced flavors and attentive service. It’s a place where we can always count on a satisfying dining experience. This is the Putien I knew! After their menu update (massive downgrade in varieties and seems cost cutting) in the other branches, I simply gave up on them but luckily I gave this flagship a chance and they did not disappoint me here! The varieties, the service, the taste are all hitting the right note. Love the simmered bittergourd and Ca Fen! They are no longer in the other branch's menu (went last to the Westgate branch). We will definitely come back again to Putien but I will only come to this flagship shop from now on. To be honest, I rather the rest of the branches keep the GST and service but give me back the old Putien!

Upon entering the restaurant, I was shocked to see that there were just two tables occupied. I got a little suspicious, as this has never been such a situation for Putien at Kitchener. True enough, I'm totally disappointed with how poor the standard of the dishes have become. Their signature items like the dry mee fen has gone off the bar! The so-called kampong chicken was dry and tasted bad. With the texture of the chicken is definitely not kampong chicken. Even the mango with ice cream dessert was a disappointment. The ice cream was already melted. These are just a few of the dishes to mention. I wasn't impressed at all and couldn't be bothered to have any pictures taken. Putien is no more what it used to be. The one Michelin Star ought to be taken off from them.

We had a really lovely experience at PUTIEN Kitchener Road today. The food was good and comforting as always. A special shoutout to Sine, who truly made our visit extra enjoyable. Her service was warm and attentive, and she went the extra mile by arranging a thoughtful fruit platter for our birthday boy — such a sweet surprise that meant a lot to us. Thank you, Sine, for making our celebration feel so special.
