Killiney Kopitiam

Since 1991. You can imagine how good it was. An absolute classic that never disappoints! I stopped by Killiney Kopitiam and ordered traditional coffee, kaya toast, and laksa—every single item was hit right out of the park. The coffee was rich, perfectly brewed, and carried that smooth, comforting local roast flavor. The kaya toast was wonderfully crisp with just the right balance of sweet kaya spread and cold butter. To top it all off, the laksa had a rich, fragrant, and perfectly spiced coconut broth that made every bite incredible. Authentic taste, fantastic traditional food, and great energy. A must-visit whether you're a local or just passing through! Highly recommended!

It seems they're preparing to open their first store in Tokyo in 2027. They have about 30 stores throughout Singapore. Their business plan is to increase sales from 20% to 50% by 2030 by strengthening merchandise sales. Increased labor costs and rent are likely to be contributing factors. I, Ira, will be returning to Japan temporarily from October 2026, so I won't be coming to Killiney again this year. I'm currently on a one-month trip to enjoy the food one last time. I'm avoiding going out on days with heavy haze.

it's ok. The Kayak toast is crisp and still fluffy. The curry chicken is nice. The roti is crispy. Lime juice is refreshing. Kopi is strong and not too sweet

I ordered kopi-c, eggs and kaya toast for total of $8.60. To be honest, food and drinks are both quite decent, but price at $8.60 is a bit too high.

A wonderful place for a classic Singaporean breakfast. They serve all the local staples, and each one is done with care and attention to detail. The coffee was freshly brewed, aromatic, and robust, with that familiar slightly bitter edge that pairs perfectly with breakfast. The kaya toast was excellent—thin slices of bread toasted until golden and crisp on the outside, slathered generously with fragrant kaya and a slab of cold butter that slowly melted into the warm toast. The balance of sweetness and richness was spot on and incredibly satisfying. The soft-boiled eggs were cooked just right, with silky whites and rich, runny yolks. Seasoned with a splash of soy sauce and white pepper, they were comforting, savoury, and simple in the best way. Everything came together beautifully for a nostalgic, no-frills breakfast that really hit the spot. We enjoyed it so much that we returned again—definitely a place we’d recommend for an authentic and satisfying Singapore breakfast.

Every time I visit Singapore, if my schedule allows, I always make a special trip to the Killiney Kopitiam flagship store near Somerset MRT station. Ten years ago, on my first trip to Singapore, I fell in love with the local breakfast culture with a plate of kaya toast, and among the many coffee shops, Killiney's kaya toast was particularly delicious. The toast is toasted to a crisp, topped with sweet and smooth kaya jam and savory butter—simple yet unforgettable. This flagship store has a long history, and the space retains the strong style of an old Nanyang coffee shop. The wooden tables and chairs and the slightly nostalgic atmosphere make you feel like you've stepped into a time tunnel. Even though the brand has since opened many branches in various locations, this remains the place that best represents Singapore's traditional breakfast culture in my heart. Sitting down and slowly enjoying a piece of toast with a cup of coffee is the most authentic Singaporean morning.

Was quite excited to try out the OG Kiliney outlet, since I had good experiences with other branch outlets like Oxley and Simlim. Overall the kaya toast 'set' was quite good. The toast was thick, lightly charred and had an even and generous spread of butter and kaya. The eggs were also the right level of doneness. Only thing maybe subpar was the coffee was a bit watery. However, as they don't have set here, it was quite pricey, total ~$8 when even my pricey standard (Ya Kun) only goes up to 6.5. Maybe I will just get coffee here and visit SimLim outlet instead for my fix *Also think is a bit scummy that they mark 1.9/piece for the bread when default is 2 pieces. Just put 3.8 lah
