A wonderful place for a classic Singaporean breakfast. They serve all the local staples, and each one is done with care and attention to detail. The coffee was freshly brewed, aromatic, and robust, with that familiar slightly bitter edge that pairs perfectly with breakfast. The kaya toast was excellent—thin slices of bread toasted until golden and crisp on the outside, slathered generously with fragrant kaya and a slab of cold butter that slowly melted into the warm toast. The balance of sweetness and richness was spot on and incredibly satisfying. The soft-boiled eggs were cooked just right, with silky whites and rich, runny yolks. Seasoned with a splash of soy sauce and white pepper, they were comforting, savoury, and simple in the best way. Everything came together beautifully for a nostalgic, no-frills breakfast that really hit the spot. We enjoyed it so much that we returned again—definitely a place we’d recommend for an authentic and satisfying Singapore breakfast.

Every time I visit Singapore, if my schedule allows, I always make a special trip to the Killiney Kopitiam flagship store near Somerset MRT station. Ten years ago, on my first trip to Singapore, I fell in love with the local breakfast culture with a plate of kaya toast, and among the many coffee shops, Killiney's kaya toast was particularly delicious. The toast is toasted to a crisp, topped with sweet and smooth kaya jam and savory butter—simple yet unforgettable. This flagship store has a long history, and the space retains the strong style of an old Nanyang coffee shop. The wooden tables and chairs and the slightly nostalgic atmosphere make you feel like you've stepped into a time tunnel. Even though the brand has since opened many branches in various locations, this remains the place that best represents Singapore's traditional breakfast culture in my heart. Sitting down and slowly enjoying a piece of toast with a cup of coffee is the most authentic Singaporean morning.

One of those familiar names you’ll probably bump into more than once in Singapore. The menu is classic: toast, soft-boiled eggs, nasi lemak, mee rebus, curry mee, Siam noodles, and etc. Basically all the local picks under one roof. Dropped by around 2 p.m. for a late lunch and was surprised it was still quite packed! Ordered the mee rebus and a lime juice. The broth was thick, though it could use just a *tiny* pinch more salt (or MSG magic) to really round up the flavour, and to hit that full, flavourful punch. The noodles came with basic condiments - bean sprouts, bean curd, egg, and a few green chilli slices. Lime juice was refreshingly zesty (though I can taste the lime cordial), did its job on a hot afternoon. Nothing mind-blowing, but a reliable spot for a quick, local fix.

Went here as recommended by my hotel as authentic local eatery. The food was delicious if simple, but the service not so much. I had the kaya toast, which is effectively white toast with a sweet butter. Goes very well with the excellent coffee they serve. Unfortunately they spilled it everywhere when putting it down, getting my fingers all sticky in the process. When I asked for a serviette I was told no, I would have to buy one separately. I understand that might be the norm (i.e., that napkins are not included at basic local eateries) but given the circumstances I was disappointed.

I googled around the hotel and found it, and it was at least a medium-stay. First, wait for an empty table, then go to order and tell your table number. They'll bring your food to you as it's ready. Orders are cash only. You don't have to return the dishes. There are no wet wipes, and toilet paper is available at the counter. The handwashing station is also located at the counter. I recommend bringing your own wet wipes and toilet paper. We had plain toast, French toast, and French loaf toast. I preferred the plain toast, but my family recommended the French loaf toast. French toast wasn't the most popular with my family, but I guess that's just a matter of personal preference. Be careful with the French loaf toast, as the butter runs down the sides (you'll understand once you try it). The curry was delicious, and the black drink was also delicious. It was crowded in the morning, but the tables turned over quickly. There were a surprising number of Japanese tourists. I wondered if there was a connection since the restaurant is on Killiney Road. We arrived unprepared and failed to order black coffee, which is what we usually eat in Korea. Highly recommended as a house with a local flavor!

This famous century-old breakfast shop in Singapore offers classic kaya toast that's crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Spreading it with the shop's signature kaya jam elevates the flavor even further—truly a century-old classic. The milk tea is delicious, and the Laksa curry chicken is also exceptional. We ate until we were sweating profusely—definitely worth the trip!

The bread was quite soft, but the portion was a bit small; you could ask for an extra loaf. The egg was rather bland, so it only had a smooth, silky texture. The milk tea was amazing; the tea and milk flavors were perfectly balanced, making it my favorite drink during my time in Singapore. They also had Milo Dinosaur, a Singaporean specialty. Although it was a bit sweet, it really lifted my spirits!
