Ganbei BBQ

Had an amazing dining experience! The food was delicious, fresh, and packed with flavour. Every dish we ordered was well seasoned and cooked perfectly, especially the BBQ skewers and the spicy dishes. The highlight of the night was definitely the frozen beer, music, making it the perfect pairing with the food. It's something you have to try! The atmosphere was lively, service was friendly and attentive, and everything arrived promptly. Great place to chill with friends over good food and frozen beer. Highly recommended, and I'll definitely be coming back!

Bad service, today the guy waitress (skinny and short guy) at the counter at entrance at around 7pm is super rude. Asking for slots, he just giving black face and randomly bomb a number say need 2hrs. Didn't even ask if we wanted or take our numbers for queue. If your service is so bad, this is not a job for you to be in a service line. Even if the food is good, i wont be coming back at all with such a bad service provided. Totally not worth my money and time over here to be paid and suffer this unreasonable treatment. Good bye to this place....

I came here because this restaurant was highly recommended online, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. When we were seated, the staff told us to scan the QR code to order and did not provide a printed menu. At no point were we informed that the price of Guinness would increase after 8:00 PM. Only when we paid the bill were we told that Guinness costs SGD 16 per pint after 8:00 PM, and we were charged SGD 32 for two pints. If this had been clearly stated before ordering, or if the QR menu had displayed the time-based pricing, we could have made an informed decision. The lack of transparency left a bad impression and made us feel that important pricing information was intentionally withheld. The food was decent, but honest and upfront communication about pricing is just as important. I hope the restaurant improves its pricing transparency so future customers won’t have the same experience.

Within the same family as Taan at Bugis, the food menu and drinks are similar. Unfortunately, the food orders were consistently delayed because they did not capture the orders in the system and had to triple check repeatedly. Quality of food is standard with nothing to complain about, but the wrong orders and delays made the overall experience not so ideal.

Had a great weekend lunch at Ganbei with friends. The restaurant has a cozy Japanese izakaya vibe with warm lighting and a relaxing atmosphere, perfect for group gatherings. We ordered a variety of dishes including the Skewer Platter, Beef Tataki, Japanese Eel Fried Rice, Garlic Scallops, Stir Fry Clams, Mapo Tofu and more. The skewers were smoky and juicy, while the eel fried rice was flavorful with a nice wok aroma. The garlic scallops were fresh and packed with flavor, and the fried chicken skin was super crispy and addictive. We also tried the Yuzu and Cranberry Kirin frozen beer, which paired really well with the food. Overall, a nice spot for casual dinner, drinks, and catching up with friends.

Had high anticipation prior to arriving here based on the reviews. Upon arriving, we were greeted with an outburst of ah beng techno, exactly the same type that the grab delivery riders would blast. Boss or manager that was just doing nothing and sitting and rude. Food was less than lukewarm, and an insult to authentic Chinese restaurants out there. Whoever that gave this place more than a 1 star has probably not tried authentic Chinese food before. Avoid at all cost!

Went here for the slushie beer. Tried the lychee flavour - tasted ok. Vibe was nice; seated outside.
