Birds of Paradise Gelato Boutique – VivoCity Singapore

Finally tried Birds of Paradise Gelato, and it did not disappoint! 🍦 We had the Hazelnut and Sea Salt Hojicha, and both flavours were really well balanced. The Hazelnut was sweet and nutty, while the Sea Salt Hojicha had a deeper, more roasted flavour. The cone was also quite unique — it was more crumbly than a typical waffle cone, with thyme incorporated into the batter, giving it a subtle herbal note that made it even more interesting. We went on a Saturday night, so there was a queue for the gelato and seating was quite limited. Definitely worth keeping that in mind if you’re planning to visit during peak hours!

I have always had amazing experiences at Birds of Paradise, but my visit today was deeply disappointing due to unacceptable service from server Elsa. We ordered a double cup, intending to use the Trust promo for a $3 single scoop and pay the difference/top-up for the rest. When we clarified this at checkout, Elsa became visibly upset and curtly claimed the promo could not be used with a double cup. We immediately let her know that was completely fine and offered to just pay for the double cup as-is and purchase a separate scoop for the promo instead. Rather than handling this calmly, she snapped, threw our double cup onto the table, and rudely said 'forget it, she doesn’t want to scoop another one' before refusing to complete the transaction. Throwing food items and lashing out at customers is entirely unprofessional. I hope management reviews the CCTV footage for this incident and takes appropriate action to address this staff member's behavior, as it falls far below the wonderful standards I've come to expect here.

Delicious ice cream however owner could pls improve on the sitting ambience? Patrons who spent monies on premium ice cream do not wish to share seat with those pungent odour smelling folks or weirdos taking up the seat without purchasing anything from your store. Instead, these weirdos were drinking sodas and consuming other foods at your premise ! Why doesnt these pungent odor smelling weirdos sit at foodcourt or next door restaurants instead? That is absolutely because you left your shop’s layout and Q-pole in a loose manner with opening resulting in these unwanted guests to share seats with your genuine customers. I am giving you 1 star until you fix this issue. Your staff dont care at all and the store manager is absolutely useless and clueless in handling this matter !

Azmi was very patient, helpful and kind with helping me make a decision with my choice of ice cream flavour; he takes the initiative to make recommendations without being prompted. He is a textbook example of an excellent service staff member. No wonder the business at this outlet is brisk, due in no small part to Azmi's display of hospitality. I had the peach rose sorbet and it had a natural sweetness, i.e. not the cloying kind that excessive sugar gives, that rounded off very nicely and cleanly with a discernible, elegant hint of rose that lingers in the mouth. Having tried a few flavours, the roasted sesame and strawberry basil are nice too. Can't quite taste the fig in the vanilla fig and the white chrysanthemum had no notes of chrysanthemum at all. Kudos to them for using stainless steel spoons for sampling as well. A single scoop will set you back at $5.5, or the price of a meal at the nearby Kopitiam, though.

Had a wonderful experience at Birds of Paradise Gelato Vivo! Nayli and Elsa were incredibly patient while we took our time choosing and sampling different flavours. They happily let us try a few options, explained each flavour, and even recommended which combinations went best together. Their friendly service made the whole experience so enjoyable. The gelato was delicious, and thanks to their recommendations, we ended up with the perfect pairing. Excellent customer service and amazing gelato—I’ll definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommend!

Really good gelato…!The flavours were delicious, creamy,not overly sweet and the cone was crispy and freshly made. The staff were also really friendly and helpful.

Found the coconut sorbet a tad too sweet for my personal preference. Also usually won’t have such issues with other outlets but at this outlet, the scoop wasn’t compactly scooped, quite a bummer to see it hollow in the centre.
