They have 5 flavors of 'Ah Balling': Peanut, sesame, red bean, yam and matcha. For soups, they have 3 to choose from: Peanut, Almond Milk and Ginger. A bowl of 4 'Ah Balling' costs $2.80 (70 cents each). It is more econmical to go for a bowl of 6, as it costs $3.50 (58 cents each). I ordered a bowl of 6 'Ah Balling' in Almond Milk soup to share, 3 peanut and 3 sesame. The soup was sweet and had a slight hint of almond and condensed milk. I still prefer the peanuts soup. The 'Ah Balling' were soft and had a mochi like texture that was warm. Bite into it and you get the peanut/ sesame insides. The skin was a tad thick though. They operate daily from 11am - 8.30pm. They also have other branches at Smith Street Food Center, Commonwealth, Hougang and Punggol.

This is really one of the OG places for traditional dessert dumplings, especially if you love peanut soup. Personally, I prefer their ginger soup paired with the black sesame dumplings. The warm, slightly spicy ginger soup balances beautifully with the rich and fragrant black sesame filling. Simple combination, but incredibly satisfying. What I appreciate most is how traditional and authentic everything still tastes. No unnecessary gimmicks, just familiar flavours done really well. From a business perspective, places like this are a good reminder that heritage itself can be a powerful brand. When you stay consistent with what made people love you in the first place, customers keep coming back across generations. Traditional, authentic and absolutely delicious. Definitely worth trying. 👍

Visited the outlet today. Served by a middle aged man, bulging belly and bespectacled. Told him I wanted 6 peanut balls with peanut soup. He replied while scooping out the newly cooked balls. While handling my order, he began scooping different coloured balls and while I corrected him, his face turned black and quickly corrected himself. After closing the takeaway lid, he pushed it to me, with the black face still there. He should have second thoughts if he still wants to be in this industry.

The glutinous rice balls are freshly made, with a thicker skin than frozen ones. Five fillings are available: peanut, black sesame, red bean paste, taro paste, and green tea. The fillings are perfectly ground, without any overpowering artificial flavor; the taste of the filling slowly unfolds in your mouth. There are several soup bases. Peanut is the signature, ginger soup is warming, but I think the most reliable is the longan and red date soup base—smooth and delicious, it complements the glutinous rice balls perfectly. The stall is small, and seating is hard to find. I went at lunchtime and didn't have to wait long. People were bustling around with their trays, chatting and clattering bowls and chopsticks—quite noisy. But eating the glutinous rice balls made me feel relaxed and peaceful.

The ah balling still tasted OK, though I think management had changed. What i disliked was that the aunty was very insistent that I couldn't have the yellow hard plastic spoon, which was only given if u ordered a "big" bowl. Instead she gave me those flimsy disposable type, which really felt it could not withstand the high temperature of any liquid. (This was not stated anywhere, else i wouldn't have patronised them).

We ordered the 6-piece tang yuan with peanut soup ($3.50) — 2 red bean, 2 sesame, and 2 peanut fillings. We enjoyed the sesame and peanut ones more. The red bean was decent but didn’t quite win us over — red bean quality can vary a lot, and this one was more on the average side. The tang yuan were standard-sized, with a nice chewy texture. The bowl of peanut soup was generous in portion. The peanuts were soft yet still held their shape, and were tasty. The soup was infused with peanut flavour, aromatic, and not overly sweet — very comforting.

Golden Mile Food Centre doesn’t have much food for vegans and vegetarians. This is one of the stalls that offers something for us who don’t eat meat. I had the warm, comforting glutinous rice balls served in fragrant ginger soup ( 5 balls of different flavours at only $3.20 ). The rice balls are soft and chewy, with just the right texture, while the ginger soup is pleasantly spicy and soothing without being overpowering. A simple and yet satisfying dessert.
