Went to try it out after seeing great reviews. Ordering process was a breeze, albeit prices on the steep side. It was nice to see that the bowls had a separation between fried and boiled items, and I followed accordingly. Unfortunately, I later realised that despite segregating according to preference all of my food items were just dumped together and cooked as boiled. Given it was my first time there, I did not realise until much later (despite having the suspicion that my items were not fried as requested based on the texture of the items) when I noticed that others were served with a separate bowl alongside their orders. That was when I put 2 and 2 together and sought clarifications from one of the friendly store assistants. He very kindly and swiftly confirmed that fried items would indeed be separated and proceeded to offer to fry the same items I requested for me separately. This kindness was appreciated, but unfortunately I was already halfway through my meal at that time and though the fried portion subsequently arrived I was too full to enjoy it. I then proceeded to slowly finish the food so as not to waste it..and by then, due to the large amounts of food being consumed the thirst also started to catch up. Taste wise, I initially ranked it 7/10 for the first few mouths but subsequently by the time the fried items arrived and the food had cooled this ranking dropped to perhaps 6. Admittedly, this drop in rating could also be attributed to my fullness. However, it also did not have a good balance of 麻 nor 辣. This was a dry pot, so I cannot comment on the taste of the soup items which I also note come with good reviews. Overall, I still wish to thank the friendly store assistants whose swift service recovery made a difference to what would otherwise have been a dampening experience. Would I come back again? Perhaps only to try out the soup and for the friendly service. We’ll see. PS: Attached picture of the food (subsequently served fried items and remaining food), as well as the receipt.

Price is a lil high but the overall experience is more than great. First the staff here is very patient, since there’s no Wi-Fi in the building, she kindly shared her hotspot for me to do the online payment. Also, food here is flavourful and comes with various choices,I ordered a little spicy fried one, very tasty. They also offer free topping and sauce like peanut, green onion etc.. Also I noticed that the vibe in this restaurant is different from normal Chinese Mala dry pot, which comes with a street style. This is kind of more upscale.

the staff were friendly and gave an intro to my friends as it was our first time. really smart to have this store in utown so that residences in utown don't have to travel to PGP for hh. the mantou was crispier than hh but i would like the noodles to be cooked longer since i am not a fan of al dente noodles. def coming back here in future as a resident in utown!!

The staff were really helpful and friendly! I had a booking for 40 people and they really assisted us! Helped put the pruchases in one bill and also reserve a big enough space for us! Food is also great! Similar to hot hideout! They also restocked on the beef and other ingredients when we requested.

The service here was exceptional. Mr. Jeff was really helpful. We were having the first meeting of our NUS iCARE (international student club) President cell here. What an amazing experience! We are open for future collaboration opportunities with Makan Malah!
