Saw the queue for the Char Kway Teow and the Michelin, decided to give it a try. First look, quite different from the normal Char kway Teow. It is covered by lots of vege and there is small little fishes like ikan bilis on top. Also it is cool without pork lard. It taste quite normal but personally I feel the taste of the vege covers the taste of the CKT. I have to separately eat the kway teow before I can taste the sweet sauce of Kway Teow.

I ordered the big plate but the noodle portion is small. It's pricey at $5.50. Only thing is they gave a lot of vegetables. I was skeptical at first. BUT it turned out to be very good. The taste is super old school, something you can't easily find these days. The dark soy sauce taste very good but it's not too sweet, so you won't get too sick of it even towards the end. I got quite a number of cockles that taste just right, which really warned my heart. They gave 1 big prawn which was very springy and sweet. And at least you get some greens, which makes it less unhealthy 😂 The other special thing about them is they don't use pork or lard. Overall, I think it was expensive but totally worth the price!

Great expectations come with great dissappoint. Order the large portion with chilli, very impressed with the generous spread of al dentel vegetables. First bite was full of sweetness and noodles are well coated. Sadly, lacking in any other expected flavor of wokhey.....and most important of all.....missing cockles or it is so small that I miss it. $5.50

Fried Kway Teow Mee $4.50 I had the Fried Kway Teow Mee which state no pork, no lard and was honestly surprised it was still tasty. I’m not a fan of the super charred “wok hei” flavour, so this was just nice for me, not too burnt taste. I liked that there were more greens in it, actually reminded me a bit of Thai style noodles the Pad See Ew, which I enjoy. Ingredients like one prawn and a few sea hums but thankfully everything was fresh and not the stale kind.

Interesting plate of CKT, and first time trying. This is like a 'healthier' version of CKT with no pork no lard, no crazy wok hei smell aka less oily. I actually quite like it as the taste is kinda sweet but not crazily sweet with a good balance of savour. Very good that they add quite a lot vegetables. Two size, small at $4.50, big $5.50 and agree with most reviewers, the $5.50 is small too, so I wonder how 'little' the $4.50 is. I ordered the $5.50 one and had one prawn only..so small one no or half a prawn? Cockles probably around 6 to 7 which as enough for the portion. The cockles are small but fresh and cooked more raw-ish. No major complains and will eat again.

PSA!! Absolutely not worth it to eat here, the portion for their ‘Large’ was like a kids meal portion, and that costed me $5.50. There were 5 pieces of cockles and one singular prawn. Taste wise nothing special at all, literally plain kway teow and yellow noodle with black sauce. Gimmicky silver fish and Ananas Cafe chilli, absolute rubbish, don’t understand how it survived so many years here. I get that inflation is very painful, but this is absolutely ridiculous, don’t waste your time and money to eat here.

2 stars for atmosphere. This place is old and in dire need of renovation. But there are nice food stalls here. 1 of them is this CKT stall. This is the only one I know that provides silverfish with vegetables in their CKT. The vege makes the dish less sinful I guess? Interestingly they close on Sat afternoon so don't be late.

This is one unique char kway teow because of two things - chef doesn’t use lard and he adds green vegetables on the noodles. Still there is always a queue outside the stall. I attribute it to the standard of the frying. No lard doesn’t mean no wok hei. Noodles came smelling yummy and tasted good. At $4.50 and $5.50 it’s a good lunch.
